I've been working on Breaking Bad, currently stuck about halfway through season two. I like it okay, but already there have been a few episodes that are worthless. Just no point, no action, no involvement in any storylines. I can't rate it GOAT when 20% of the episodes bore me into losing interest.

Focus factor...

I get that. Breaking Bad did, however, actually nail the ending. No other GOAT candidate did. The ending of literally every candidate has been TURRRRIBBBLE.

The Wire would have been better if David Simon just quit after Season 4 and left it hanging. The last two seasons of Game of Thrones were ghastly. The Sopranos is historically awful. Et cetera.

* Charles Barkley is on the latest Bill Simmons podcast, in case you hadn't heard. Cue my inevitable rant about the greatest sportswriter alive with a voice that sounds like a chipmunk being raped by a badger deciding that podcasting rather than columns is his best use of time.

Kudos to our kids’ preschool that decided to do a delayed start today. Nothing like sitting in a carpool line for 30 minutes then having to go to another side of the building to drop off the youngest. They also decided to push back early drop off next school year from 7:30 to 8:00 even though we pay darn dear the equivalent of college tuition for this place. They’re basically saying they don’t care about households where both parents have careers or they’re so out of touch they don’t realize that the work day doesn’t start at 9:00.

Nothing makes more irate than during these delayed starts and I walk in & the director is sitting there taking her sweet ole time chatting it up with Mary Mae about lil Hudson and his darling outfit. Hey, toots, speed this up. Some people have stuff to get done today.

We’re on day 5.5 of daycare being out because of snow. And I’m sure they’ll cancel the rest of the week too. They never should have canceled last Friday. The roads were fine and if you looked at the forecast you could see what this week was going to look like a anticipate more closings.

School’s been out as well (2 days were already planned holiday/in-service).

Everyone has gotten a little too comfortable closing things down after the past year.

One thing we did with twins was hire a day care worker to just come do it at our house. They were making $10-$12 an hr. The day cares close for every holiday possible, anytime your child has a runny nose, loose deuce or sneeze.

Made more financial sense to have control of WHO and WHEN were watching Brady and Jay.

-still tryna decide betwixt: ap track in district, bio medical magnet, academy magnet in district or lexcath. Love Sayre but 26k per annum is a bit much for this middle class dude to justify.*

*especially since the first had *meh* grades/great test scores/public ap (strong "sos")...and got in to every school applied to with generous scholly offers from most.

^in short, we worry too much about **** that prolly doesn't matter as much as we think it does.

Hell yea.
The last episode of Breaking Bad was a huge crock of ****. I still can't believe I wasted my time watching it.

See, this is a good discussion/comparison to have...Opposite sides of the coin in terms of ending, both series are 1a/1b.

There’s a decent bit of Sopranos in Breaking Bad.

Ultimately, Chase took the easy way out for reasons we’ll never know. Guess it just had to end at that time.

Sopranos was awesome. So glad someone finally made some content about Italian-American organized crime!

It was great when it came out and paved the way for other, better stuff.

I watched every season with eager anticipation of those two dirty commies being machinegunned down by G-men Bonnie & Clyde style only to be left frustrated by the final episode.

'The Americans' was a fantastic series and when you factor in the way they perfectly complimented scenes with a soundtrack from the era that was mostly deep cuts by the artist -> *chefs kiss*.

The only small gripe I have is that it wasn't distributed by HBO so they could push the boundaries on how brutal the Cold War espionage game was. Not that FX underdelivered, but think it would have been taken to '11' there.

As much as I’d like to be “I’m much too busy to watch tv” guy, the truth is more I’m an “attention span of a chihuahua” guy.

A City So Real doc on Nat Geo about the history of Chicago’s neighborhoods to modern day sprinkled in with some local politics was a great docuseries.

I've been to at least 5 different Gas Stations searching for the throwback Macho Man Slim Jims and no dice.
