I really like Allen and think it's shameful that he didn't play in the 2nd half, but some of y'all are acting like he's Ray Allen. Dude can't dribble, plays mediocre D, and bricked his two 3s tonight.
At this point, he's a spot up shooter and nothing more. Again, he needs more PT because everybody sucks, but he's not all-SEC, let alone AA.

What Cal is doing with Askew playing the minutes he gets while the way he has treated Allen is disgusting. Cal has revealed his petty side. Askew cannot defend a D1 guard, cannot penetrate, cannot shoot, can get Td up for whining about calls and he is going to play. Allen just needs to transfer.

Allen is easy as hell to guard. He can’t get a shot off and he can’t create his own shoot. He isn’t strong enough nor have the motor to run off screens like a Murray, Herro , Monk or Quickley.

I don’t think that is true with respect to what most fans think. Askew cannot guard anyone, cannot penetrate, doesn’t create, can’t shoot but can get a tech whining about him taking a horrific shot and not getting bailed out with a foul call and still get damn damn near unlimited clock. Cal is simply being a petty ******* at this point.
Well none of those guys are on this team and Askew sure can't either but he's ALWAYS in the game.

Any coach worth their salt would do anything they could to get allen clean looks. Of course said coach would have to know how to do that but apparently cal doesn’t. Imagine having a 47% 3 point shooter on your roster but you don’t know how to use him and your a hall of fame coach. Cal is in the hall of sucks, nothing more. Whatever that ******* knew about coaching left his cranium awhile back. He literally may be one of the worst coaches in D1 basketball today.

Agree that Allen has deficiencies. My issue is Askew and his treatment. He only can go side to side and that is only because his defender lets him. Askew simply is not playing at a level that warrants the clock he gets and his whiny *** technical didn‘t even keep him on the bench long.

Interesting we shoot 60% in the 2nd half but with our seemingly worst defender on the bench the entire 2nd half we couldn’t come up with enough stops to get the victory. Another middle finger to the fan base but yet another L on Cal’s resume. Dudes a prick!!!!

A good coach would know how to use Allen if his scoring was needed and on this team it is. But Cal is not going actually start changing his O.
Never saw Allen until this year and I’ll admit I was surprised at his body type. Expected someone more wiry and quick. But he can shoot it.
Will be much better off with a different coach. Would hope for a call from Few if I were him.
