If Cal left for UCLA and won a title, would that be worse than Pitino going to the Celtics first and then UofL?

Only if he beat Ky doing it.If Cal left for UCLA and won a title, would that be worse than Pitino going to the Celtics first and than UofL?
Maybe you but not me.This board would spontaneously combust.
You may regret those words if he goes then busts out some national titles there. It is entirely possible.I don’t care where he goes as long as he goes somewhere.
The way these things usually go, I'd say it's likely that Cal would win a title at his next destination. And that'd be coupled with 100% probability that UK fans claim say he did it by cheating and paying players. You may regret those words if he goes then busts out some national titles there. It is entirely possible.
Not me. Then we will know for sure that he laid down on UK. So it will be a good thing he is gone. You may regret those words if he goes then busts out some national titles there. It is entirely possible.
Could easily see it happening. If Cal can get the best players in the country to spend a year in Lexington, then convincing them to spend a year in Los Angeles would be child’s play. Not to mention he would blow open the only region he hasn’t recruited effectively at Kentucky. It was smart of UCLA to offer him when they did, but dumb of us to counter with a “lifetime contract.”
I'd chip in a couple of bucks on his plane ticketI don’t care where he goes as long as he goes somewhere.
RP did not bother me... He was a lying scum while here. That did not suddenly happen at ULIt wouldn't bother me much, the difference in that is, we weren't ready for Rick to leave and Cal could go now it it wouldn't bother a lot of people. The rules are different and his coaching is too, with the G-league and all of the distractions out there I don't think he would do as well as he has here.
Granted his is not the top X and O coach...but as you said HE is not getting the elite of the elite...then no matter who the coach is; it is tough to win with such a large turnoverWell he hasn’t been getting the best players in the country the last few years and that’s a fact. Which is why you see the results you see. He’s still getting a bunch of 5 starts but they’re 2nd tier and not the elite of the elite like he was getting the first several years.
He lacks significant skill at actual X’s and O’s Coaching which is why you’re seeing awful basketball especially in the beginning months of the season “just wait till March!”
So UCLA would also be getting a bunch of 10-60 rated freshman all on the same team with zero sure fire elites (Cade, Zion, Wall, AD, Simmons, RJ etc)
I liked Pitino until he went to Boston, he may have lied while he was here but so has Cal, also Rick liked Kentucky boys more than Cal, I will give him that.RP did not bother me... He was a lying scum while here. That did not suddenly happen at UL
You guys (some) think Cal is condensing to fans...RP was at least 10x worse, at UK
RP liked winning and all the attention he got... zero to do with ky boys.I liked Pitino until he went to Boston, he may have lied while he was here but so has Cal, also Rick liked Kentucky boys more than Cal, I will give him that.
Their view of UK fans and the program in general is not different at allI liked Pitino until he went to Boston, he may have lied while he was here but so has Cal, also Rick liked Kentucky boys more than Cal, I will give him that.
My friend ... if you think for a moment that John Calipari will ever again be the head coach of a team that wins an NCAA Title - anywhere - then I have a piece of ocean-front property down the street from my house here in Scottsdale, AZ that I'd like to sell to you, really cheap !If Cal left for UCLA and won a title, would that be worse than Pitino going to the Celtics first and then UofL?
Are you his biographer? Think what you want.RP liked winning and all the attention he got... zero to do with ky boys.
Then their ego will be their downfall, already happened to one of them.Their view of UK fans and the program in general is not different at all
and the other is well on his wayThen their ego will be their downfall, already happened to one of them.
too busy calling them rednecks and hilljacks with the rest of the ohioans. You don’t get out much with fellow Kentuckians, do you?
YesIf Cal left for UCLA and won a title, would that be worse than Pitino going to the Celtics first and then UofL?
no, I was around him occasionally and know plenty of guys that worked with him daily...Are you his biographer? Think what you want.
hell, I am in Anthem...where is that? sign me upMy friend ... if you think for a moment that John Calipari will ever again be the head coach of a team that wins an NCAA Title - anywhere - then I have a piece of ocean-front property down the street from my house here in Scottsdale, AZ that I'd like to sell to you, really cheap !
Cal would never go to California their taxes are too high.Could easily see it happening. If Cal can get the best players in the country to spend a year in Lexington, then convincing them to spend a year in Los Angeles would be child’s play. Cal coached at UMass. Wanna talk taxes?Cal would never go to California their taxes are too high.
I don't believe UCLA wants that losing strategy on their campus.Could easily see it happening. If Cal can get the best players in the country to spend a year in Lexington, then convincing them to spend a year in Los Angeles would be child’s play. IMO losing so early with that Zion team shows that the OAD model does not work.Granted his is not the top X and O coach...but as you said HE is not getting the elite of the elite...then no matter who the coach is; it is tough to win with such a large turnover
The great coach K could not even make the FF with the best recruiting class ever!!! is he a bad XandO coach also?
how hard are you crying right now?
