Not worthless little Richie in Minnesota, the big Pitino that remains the best college coach available. His buyout would be a few hundred bucks and he'd get UK back on course quick. It'd be a story for the ages... "Rick Returns to Camelot to win another title"
It would be a Seabiscuit type story, both parties need redemption.

I'd like that idea if I didn't expect him to be getting a show-cause from the ncaa when ul's penalties are handed down.

I loved RP here. He should not have left. He’d be 31 years in and a true long time legend of a program.

When he went to UL that was it for me. He could’ve had Michigan or UNLV. He choose the biggest headline and thought UK fans would follow.

Yep, UL corrupted him. Nasty little birds.

The crap that happened under his watch at Louisville aside, you don't take Pitino for the same reason you don't take Beilien. Not enough years left in the career. Doesn't UK have a mandatory retirement age of 70? Pitino and Beilien are 68 and 67 respectively.

As wild as this is to say- he isn’t leaving Iona. Lol!
I know this thread is mostly absurd, but I do t think you will see Rick coach anywhere else beyond this final stint in New Rochelle. He seems very sincere to me.

I'd rather end the program

Ricks 90's teams were so much fun... imo a ton better than Cal's tenure here. But due to Rick's hooker scandal.... nope. thats a big deal breaker even if Pitino had nothing to do with it... still happened on his watch.

although I know the OP and some here are just incredibly butt hurt many of us old enough remember and love the 90's teams and 90's rick pitino. Go watch games from that era... by far more fun .. (wall, davis, towns and sometimes fox teams were just as fun but every team from Rick in the 90's was fun to watch)

I’m warming to the idea of seeing Pitino after this mess we have watched this year. If Cal can’t coach in game he has to do a better job managing his roster and evaluation of talent. Use your eyes instead of star ratings. A certain football recruit that I know is a junior and has offers all over the country, got a 4star rating based on measurables and speed. In game this recruit is terrible and has little to no impact on the game. I’d rather have a lower ranked player that has some fight, a good attitude, and skill. Forget all the hype.

anyone wanting Pitino back - setting aside that he's morally bankrupt must still assume he has what it takes to win at the highest level at UK.

But look what he had to do to win at UL. You really want that coming back to UK's program?

If not Cal, lets get a 40'ish guy in here ready to prove he has what it takes to be at the top of the mountain, you know, like Cal wanted to be before he turned into Calibus, the patron saint of generational poverty

We have Nike. Do you really think people dont think that now? Let's be honest there is most likely a 99.9 percent chance that is going on here as well I am talking about the show companies not the uglyass stripp

But we have nike. And honestly who here thinks we are not getting outside help. The shoe companies have ruined college basketball.

ok let me rephrase

Pitino has lost a step and got caught

You really want a coach here who can't hide cheating?

It wouldn’t shock me to find out Pitino was cheating even when he was here.

On his wife? Sure. Basketball cheating though, that would shock me. We missed on lots of top five guys, and the McDonald’s all Americans he did get, with the exception of Rhodes and Mercer, were at the lower end of the five star rankings if that makes sense (we got Delk but not Kidd, Turner but not Marbury).

I think Newton, Bell and the powers that be took all of that extremely seriously. We laid off Cliff Rozier when he got taken to an off campus party for instance. The fact that Pitino had the success he did with everything being so far above board does speak to his coaching ability.
