It’s not Covid related. It’s not a car accident.
Friend of mine who is a dispatcher where he is from heard what it was.
Just pray for the family. They’ll need them.

Wow, i had to reset my password and it said I just joined?

Correct. This is something that should stay with the family until they want to release any info. It was sudden and apparently totally unexpected.

Just pray for the family.

There are very few things that kill an otherwise healthy 22 year old athlete. The first one that comes to mind breaks my heart to think about.

From my neck of the woods .. So very sad , had a friend lose his daughter - same age- in a car wreck Christmas eve , she was a great athlete , bro is a QB at Valpo . Coached with her dad . Dont understand how you could bear that pain , without God.

totally agree
life is brutal enough, but how can you make it day to day without God to talk with

I'm not going to post it here because it hasn't been confirmed or shared by his family but if you search his name on Twitter you can quickly see what happened. Very tough situation and I feel for and pray for his family and friends.

Yeah, saw that, and so sad. Scares the **** out of me with two kids, that I know I will not always be able to protect them from the world in every way.

It doesn’t matter what caused it, it is a tragedy and a pain to some damn good people.

Baseless speculation hurts those involved even more. Stop it.

My heart sank when I saw this, and the stories of losses from others broke it even more.

Condolences to the family of this fine young man for their horrific loss, and to the pain of loss of others.

It wasn't cancer, it wasn't a car accident......drugs?

Really......Does it matter? Read between the lines.

It's nothing to discuss for now, whatever it is. A young man is gone and a family is undoubtedly devastated. Keep them in your thoughts/prayers and we'll know more if they want us to know more. Plus it will eventually come out anyway. Till then...let it rest

My heart goes out to Ben's family and friends. This is not something that they will ever get over, but with faith in God and the help of friends and prayers, they will get through it.

I only got to spend 3 months and 6 days with my middle child, but I can guarantee you whether its 3 months or 22 years this is the worst thing any parent can go through. The pain is unbearable and neverending. My thoughts and prayers are with Ben Jordan's family and friends and teammates. Especially his 3 younger sisters. My condolences Jordan family.
I don't know how far you are on your journey, but I am right at a year and a half since losing my 14 y/o daughter. Know that we are not walking alone.
Damn...I cannot imagine man. Makes me think about all the **** going on in the world and how the vast majority of it doesn't matter at the end of the day.
Very true. Everything about 2020 (covid, politics, social justice, etc...) was just clutter to me.
People are always curious, especially when someone this young passes. It makes us all think about our ultimate fate (in this world)... very sad for the family... we nearly lost our young son to a massive brain stroke and rare disease last year. I feel for the family.
My daughter had a brain aneurysm and never recovered. Prayers for your son's recovery.

Can someone just post the cause of death and/or what circumstances led up to it?? Was it suicide? If so how? Was it OD on drugs? If so what?? It may help someone on here recognize warning signs or intervene...we are all adults here. Maybe it is something I can analyze in my own life such as alcohole or depression??! Thanks

Nobody knows what caused it or any details. All we know is he’s dead. The family hasn’t confirmed or announced a cause of death so it’s all speculation. I’m sure you’re a smart person though.

Doubtful. Rarely would that happen without serious signs leading up to it.

Honestly this isn’t true anymore. What I’m saying has zero to do with Ben.

People today are self medicating more and more and no one knows. With newer drugs on the market, people mentally suffering who do not seek help are more and more quietly trying to use different forms (heroin for example) to medicate while still operating as normal. Many do it quietly and regulate their usage to deal with everyday life. Then they suddenly get the wrong dose, bad batch, or fentanyl and pass away.

I’m actually about to start as an MHT and we’ll versed on it. You’d be surprised how many people are doing this.

We're all wondering, dont act like its not normal to be curious why a 22 yr old died. This is a message board, not the scheduled visitation with family.

I think the point is if this was your son you would prefer people not speculate on the internet. You wouldn’t be able to do anything about it, but you’d hope they didn’t.

I’m curious as well, but why he died is largely irrelevant for them tonight.

I hear what youre saying but if you're immediate family i find it hard to believe youre flipping through UK message boards searching for rumors.

I think it was suicide. By looking at stuff on twitter thats what it seems to be. Obviously none of us know for sure, but thats my guess.

I really wouldn't care. This is a message board full of whacko fans, not the paper. I honestly dont care what anyone thinks of me or my loved ones on here.

Sad to hear. I lost some good friends to tragedy at a young age in both HS and college. Always a difficult time as it leaves those close to that person in complete shock because they are gone so young.

I lost a friend who played volleyball at UK 15 years ago. Still think about her from time to time....was a great person. I hope Ben's friends and family can heal through this and ultimately remember the good times.

I would understand why they did. We're emotionally invested in all things UK and humans are curious by nature. Its perfectly normal for folks to wonder why.

Thanks...i was thinking that. Maybe the painkillers after Tommy John surgery had an effect? Was he still playing baseball? Sometimes ex high level athletes go thru a major depression when they are done with sports. Sad sad day...there is so much happiness in life to be experienced.

Of course we're all wondering. I'm wondering too. But at a certain point, reading between the lines, it becomes clear that people want to keep it private for now. So let's just leave it at that and wait for it to eventually come out.

Holy Father I pray for Your hand to be upon Ben's family at this time as they mourn the loss of a fine young man.

Be with them Father let them feel your presence and let it give them comfort.

I pray that Ben is with You in heaven now Father, free of all pain and worry. In this I pray, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
