What?? Hate to be the one to ask but what happened? Prayers to him and his family!
What happened to him? What was his cause of death?

I’d say if they wanted people to know the cause they would have mentioned it. Respect the family’s privacy and realize it will probably come out eventually. Any way you look at it, heartbreaking news and prayers out to his family and friends.
Got the news at 7 this morning, I knew him well and know his father well. I’ve been crying all morning, such awful news
Yes, this is true. I have seen several different stories on this, but no mention of what happened. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
I have posted it elsewhere, but I think it continues to bear repeating on who and what Ben Jordan was:
Ben was a 2017 recruit for UK baseball and was considered a huge get. Perfect Game ranked him as the 97th best high school senior in the entire country and the third best senior player in KY. Had Ben not suffered an elbow injury that required Tommy Johns surgery, he likely would have (or at least could have) surpassed college baseball and gone to play professionally right out of high school. However, he had the injury and he came to UK where he spent 2018 as a redshirt.
In 2019 he pitched sparingly and had not really fully recovered from his injury. He threw 8.2 innings through 10 games with a 7.27 ERA. He had ups and downs that year, struggling at times, but at others flashing the dominance that he showed prior to the injury. During the summer he went to play in the Cal Ripken League where he was named the number 1 prospect in that league and an All Star.
In 2020 Ben was invited to play basketball by John Calipari partway through the season. Ben, after discussions with baseball coach Mingione, accepted the invitation and walked onto the basketball team to provide help in practices. This, to my understanding, was a lifelong dream for him, as it is for many native Kentuckians. He was set to rejoin the baseball team at the end of the basketball season. However, as we are all painfully aware, the basketball and baseball seasons were cut short in 2020.
Ben was returning to the UK baseball team in 2021 as a redshirt sophomore. UK baseball continues to have a relatively young pitching staff and Ben could and certainly would have played a factor in that bullpen.
Just as important, Ben was also an excellent student, twice being named to the All SEC Academic Honor Roll. Ben was also the older brother of three sisters. He is certainly gone too soon and will be greatly missed.

At that age, when unreported, it's usually one of two different possibilities, and they're both tragic ways to lose a child. Prayers for his family.
Sad news. My daughter will be 21 in a couple of weeks and I can't even pretend to know what it would be like to lose a child at that age. Prayers to the family and friends.

My son's 22. I'd be devestated, as I'm sure his family is. I pray for them as much as him.

Such horrible news. All of us, especially we parents of children who are college age, can only imagine dealing with that deepest fear held since the day a child is born: That they pass before you do.
