Stoops earlier in the day:

On DB Kelvin Joseph’s play and being immature at times …

“I have to continue to do the best I can. It is not, as you know, it’s not the way we want to represent ourselves at times with the penalties and the undisciplined plays. Kelvin is a competitor. He understands once you talk to him and get him on the side and talk to him. He’s very competitive in games but some of it is absolutely unacceptable. You know, like the one play on Saturday, there’s just no excuses. You can’t have it, it’s totally unacceptable and it will be addressed. It won’t happen again for a long time I can promise you that. Kelvin is still relatively new to our culture and the way we do things, and we will continue to teach him and that’s our job, to coach, teach and bring guys along. So, we will continue to work on that.”

Several Kentucky kids on the floor for this EKU Xavier game that can actually shoot the basketball. Crazy.

Didn't hear the 17-20 threes per game comment live but I'm sure Cal just sticking it to the basketball bennies which is all the more infuriating.

I get wanting to shoot more 3’s, but there is a difference in just jacking up 3’s and those shots coming open within the play.

I don’t remember Murray/Ulis, Monk, anyone from 2015, Young/Harrison, Lamb/Miller, or Knight/Lamb having issues shooting them so to just blame Cal seems off if you are also saying he hasn’t changed and is a stubborn old mule.

What I see is Cal doesn’t have confidence in any group early on while they learn to play, and the more he gets them to attack, rebound and play defense the more likely those shots pop open.

I don’t mean to defend Cal because I have issues with him in general, but these kids have to buy into what his “system” is and Sunday it was 75% 1 on 1 ball.

Tonight we look different and kick KU’s ***!

With Aaron and Andrew Harrison, Ulis and Booker on the team, we took 5 threes against Wisconsin in the Final 4.

Our three-point attempts rank in the 300s the last few years.

It’s an issue with Calipari.

WKU/Louisville should be a really good one today before the big boy double header -- Topps have been really impressive early, that trio of McKnight, Hollingsworth, and Bassey is about as good as it gets. May sprinkle that ML.

I've never known less about a UofL basketball team in my life, and it's not even close. Pretty similar feeling watching IU yesterday as well. :( What a weird time.

That Trey Galloway is one awkward flat footed SOB - looks like Adam Morrison's less talented and less ugly little brother out there. He can play though.

-No Ceilings 3 mixtape type of day.

-SAE, moderna vaccine showing high 90 effectiveness for preventing symptoms of covid and 100% for preventing death.

So we basically messed around and developed, and are implementing, a new vaccine technology. Operation Warpspeed 🦅

-If I had a time machine with limited trips, one of those early tailgates would be on the list.

-Congrats to Mags. Big move.

-So we havean Elf on the Shelf. Creepy little f*cker. G was really excited so I guess it's fine.

-Question: Where are the sledding spots around LEX if we get enough snow this winter? 80, you got a good place out at the farm?

Nick F'ing Saban brought in that bratty mouthed, self centered, arrogant twerp Lane Kiffin in to reinvent his offense. So yeah, change can happen.

Never really pegged Calipari as the control freak type, but I guess so.

Coach K went through a relative doldrum too and then reinvented his recruiting strategy to much success. It happens with the best.

Cal is awesome and easily the best UK coach since Rupp. We ***** about him but we shouldn't forget that he is incredible and, when things are rolling, perfect for the job. Kind of feels like the fifth year of marriage where the magic has worn off, both spouses have put on weight, and life is good but not the Camelot dream everyone hoped for.

He needs to adapt and reinvent himself. He's done it before. It is just weird to see him fight so hard against it now.

-having a gas line/starter installed in a traditional wood burning fireplace is an *essential* home "luxury".

-while i like traditional choral xmas music, nothing wrong with a crooner:

1. Nat King Cole
2. Bing Crosby
3. Mel Torme
4. Perry Cuomo
5. Louis Prima

-using the elfster app for family (adult) gift exchange. Has a wish list feature...which is key. Mrs rudd1 has been using it for her gals "dirty santa"* party for a bit.

*not as exiting as it sounds.

In past years people would always sled in front of the old Shriner's Hospital. No clue if that's still a thing since it no longer the hospital.

Did always seem a little weird to see a bunch of kids sledding in front of a building full of sick kids though.

-A nice looking wood burning stove insert with a blower >> gas starter.

-UK is shooting way too many long 2’s and not enough dunks. It should be dunks and three pointers. That’s the offense. Speed it up. Superior teams will win with more possessions. Same reason Stoops should be eating clock on offense as much as possible.

No Sinatra?
Or Dean Martin?

Ok list, but you missed the obvious 1 & 1a.

Bonus point for Louis Prima... who in my opinion was an important historical outlier for the the creation of Rock n Roll.

I just want something to entertain me. This year’s football seasons (college and pro) have been a foggy mess. Give me a spark of hope basketball Cayts.

I definitely care, but my excitement is considerably less for these early big games when we've already been handily beaten by a mid-major, which has become fairly routine.

I love the Cats, will always love the Cats, will always get fired up about them, but I am definitely sick of getting nut tapped early in the season. Never fails to turn us all from optimists to ***** bus riders.

-maybe for a "homestead" or hunting/fishing cottage, bucket.

^would love to have a "sustainable"/off the grid place at some point. Solar/wood heat/greywater, ATKOT.

-930 tip...makes watching only the 1st half more palatable.

-sinatra and martin are great...but ratpack nostalgia/mob fetish elevates them in popular culture. They cant *sing* like the rest of those dudes.

-prima/keely smith duets are perfect.

And before anyone starts with "WE ARE SO YOUNG AND EVERYONE IS NEW," I realize that, and I don't care. He chose to build the program this way. He still has the same expectations as every other UK coach for regular season games. Beating people into submission (or even just beating people) is a fun, and rightfully expected, part of the journey.

I take legal meth* every morning and there's still no way in hell I'm giving up caffeine.

Had a real rough start to the week, but with a beautiful snowfall this morning that didn't impact the commute, free Chick-Fil-A in my office for lunch, and a big Cats game tonight (even if I am on the ***** Bus), well, everything's coming up Pretzel.

*allegedly

Now that it's officially December, I can queue up Christmas music, but I'm just not feeling it quite yet. I'll be starting with either old 80s Amy Grant Christmas or August Burns Red, though. Plenty of time for Mel Torme and Natalie Cole this month. #nontraditional

So my house has a little raccoons in the chimney problem. Last year one of those rascals got in there and had a bunch of babies. They sounded adorable. It's closed off from the inside, so we can't smoke them out, and they left once they were old enough to leave the nest in the spring. Welllll, now that it's cold again, they are definitely back (or Mom is). My cat sat on the mantle staring holes into the fireplace brick and making fight kitty noises for three hours last night. Lowkey want to see what she'd do if one of those suckers actually got out of the chimney into the house...
