As for the third ACC coach saying someone had to score on that Wake team...Sarr’s high player efficiency rating(can’t remember what it is but think it’s the highest at UK barely nudging out KAT) and with him being a guy who opposing teams plan their scouting report around should tell you enough on how good a player he is.

Whoever that coach is...well he is a salty bitxh.

That can’t be Coach K, couldn’t be after what Sarr did to Puke last season.

Coach K would never participate in something like this. He’d make his assistants do it. The duke staff hates us so it’s not outside the realm of possibility for one of them to make such a salty comment. I think Brey has spoken out against transfers very recently so I could easily see him sayin that as well. I could see boeheim making some comments like that too. But my guess is Brey.

The SEC coach has to be one of Crean or Barnes. Maybe Pearl. Pearls always super complimentary of Cal and Kentucky when it’s public. No tellin what he says behind closed doors though.

If the second acc comment is a head coach I’d guess Tony Bennett. He’s by far the most professional and least bitter of the bunch.

Not everything another coach says is about UK as a team or program. The first ACC coach quote was just them saying they aren’t big on Sarr due to him playing on a terrible team and they also aren’t big on grad transfers as a whole as opposed to others. I think that is a fair opinion although some might not agree with it.

Funny, this guy is simply stating what is kind of obvious. But it's 2020, where everything is difficult and every statement is contentious.

"I don’t think Cal gets the credit that he deserves as a coach,” an SEC coach said. “He makes it look effortless, he does it every year at Kentucky. It’s become normal. People don’t realize how good he has to be to do it every year. He has a unique ability, in a very, very short window, to get guys to come together as a unit, play for the greater cause and get them to play for one another.”

The first coach had an extremely poor response. When ANY player does well on a bad team, it’s a positive rather than a negative. Their opponents can focus on stopping or at least limiting that one player, which should make it easier to neutralize him rather than have him perform well. At Kentucky, Sarr Is going to be surrounded by a lot of players that are immensely talented so teams can’t just focus on defending him. His numbers might drop due to the quality and quantity of other players on the team, but his efficiency and effectiveness should go up. It’s not rocket science,

They make a good point on grad transfers as a whole though, I have always though there were overvalued. Look at the top graduate rankings for 2019, the only one who performed at least ok was black shear and he didn’t live up to the hype. Also the top grad transfer in 2018, Reid Travis didn’t play all that well and that is somewhat of the same impact I see sarr making, albeit a little more than Reid. Grad transfers from bad teams more often than not, don’t fare as well at the school they transfer to.

LOL I can promise you, nobody here gives two ***** what your opinion is. Head on back over to the duke board, please. Do us all a solid.

Exactly this. This is exactly the view I have on this as well. What the coach said doesn’t even make much sense to me. It’s more about the defense you’re going against than how “bad” your team is.

Now, Sarr might not get the attempts and usage rate he did at Wake, but he’ll be even more efficient here IMO. Teams won’t be able to key on him due to all the other talent around him here. On the flip, the other guys will be better with the attention that is drawn to Sarr. Win, win. GBB!

I think you’ll find you are wrong regarding Sarr. He’s the one thing this year’s UK team was missing. Everything else is covered and covered well. As I said, his numbers might go down simply because we have so many options, but he will be a key component on the team. There aren’t many good 7 foot centers (experienced as well) in the college game these days. I think he‘ll be close to a double double guy. Let’s say 11-13 points and 8-10 boards. I’ll take that every day.

It should also be noted that Sarr is NOT a grad transfer as you seem to think.

I’d say the one talking about what Sarr can do as far as catch lobs etc...is a coach that is well versed in negative recruiting against us when talking about bigs. He basically said you can get an occasional lob but other than that offensive rebounding will be your only touches. Regardless I hate anonymous crap like this. Serves no point.

You’re trippin. Maybe some programs expected more than what they should had and some classes of grad transfers are better than others as always the case. However, Reid Travis wasn’t very good? He was good plenty for us and lived up to his billing. He was always what he was and for us to be great he would have to be 3rd option at best. He did just fine. So did Sestina.

Thug life on rafters haha
LOL I just get sick and tired of these trolls from other programs coming over here and shortchanging our guys, brother. **** gets old, fast. Been old for a long *** time.

Also, get tired of hearing them and their drivel about how duke is catching up to UK in <insert flavor of the week>. They wanna be Kentucky so bad they can’t stand it. They’ll never admit it, but it’s the truth.

They’ll just cite some BS timeline nonsense. Again, **** gets old. I cannot wait til their POS coach is gone from the game for good. They’ll then drown in mediocrity, at best. That day can’t come soon enough.

I am a Wake Forest fan (have tickets).
Olivier was 3rd Team All ACC last year.
Wake fans went crazy when he announced he was leaving.

That article is BULL CRAP. This kid can play.
You’re absolutely right. Anyone that watches him play and knows basketball will say the same. Hell, I watched a 5 minute clip and came away very impressed.

He has good post moves, good footwork, can shoot and is a real good passer for a 7 footer. If a double comes, he will burn them with the pass. IMO, he excels here, with all the weapons surrounding him. GBB!

If I have any criticism of Olivier, it would be:
...he played for Danny Manning and learned to Lose
...he's almost too nice (doesn't have a mean streak)

I'm counting on Cal fix that by Christmas.

Cal and the other players, hopefully. There’s several guys on this team that have a big time will to win and hate to lose. I know I’ve heard/read that about a few of them.

wonder how Duke will steal the new mantra of UK #builtdifferent? I’d like to hear everyone’s take on what their new rip-off will be.

i will take your opinion over any “news report” that interviews opposition anonymously anytime. At least you know what kind of players do well at UK and have watched him over his career, plus love there and know how other fans feel.

I don't think any of them would be Coach K because I don't see him taking the time to address it. I mean does anyone really go out there way to talk to that guy outside of the job aspect of it. I think not.

K has generally been nothing but complimentary of UK over the years.

And he steals practically every innovation Cal comes up with. I don't think he's going to badmouth anything we do as much as some fans wish he would.

Now Mack, on the other hand...
