Shorts from the road.

- Colorado is great, I've smoked a lot more and less cannabis than one would think.

- Black Canyon is a must see.

- I'm very grateful to have the people I do have in my life for this trip. The lass is beyond supportive and it is great to catch up with some friends.

- I've begun journaling day by day and writing various fan fiction.

Looks like Jcrow may have some company soon.

I'm a good friend.

Anyone here ever get a sleep study done? What should one expect?

Do the overnight study, it’s much more reliable than the “at home” exam.

Expect to fall asleep and be woken up and put the mask on. Then learn to like the mask as you will be feeling so much better with restful sleep. Life will also improve for your spouse/partner as you don’t snore while wearing the mask, just a sort of darth Vader breathing.

study for me was just a monitored sleep to confirm if I in fact had sleep apnea. Bunch of wires on my chest and head and an uncomfortable assed bed in a room full of cameras and two techs in the room next door. I couldn’t fall asleep at all the first night and they sent me home at 4 am. Night 2 I made sure I was extra tired and did passout.

I get called back for a meeting to be told I had sleep apnea. No ****, I stop breathing in my sleep. I know this.

so I go back again, and have to do a trial night with a machine and mask on. Sleep like garbage again because it’s awkward AF.

I take it home and stick to it because my now wife is a RT and tells me she will only have sleepovers if I get one.

11 years later and still going strong. I hated it for a week now I enjoy and appreciate it.

edit - and since my study, the doctor has since lost his license. Turns out he was a super troll in the medical world haha. My man.

It sucks. They wire you up - like all over your body. You try to sleep in vain. Then you go home at like 5am. This happens twice.

But the actual mask you’ll receive is something you get used to, improves your sleep, and perhaps most importantly keeps you from snoring and getting bitched at by your wife.

Really nailed the loathsome feeling of the occasional disgusting lunch binge. It's a dark ****ing place. I typically convince myself it's the last meal before I really get serious, it's not, and eat healthy.

As well as the simple married guy joy of driving around alone enjoying a dip, podcast, music, fresh air, silence.

Was a beautiful post.

- Got my Joey Rupption on and finally decided to start regularly using the Honeywell app on my phone to adjust the thermostat in the house. Saving those few steps to the wall unit makes me feel pretty bad about myself. Whatever.

- Speaking of lazy, entering that time of year when it's easy to let the diet completely go. The lbs are already creeping up again.

- Anth, outing myself as a longtime EDM superfan here (so long I remember when it was still called "techno;" guess "EDM" is more acceptable and cool to the mainstream). Two more to check out if you haven't already: Eric Prydz and Gareth Emery.

- Midnight City brings back a flood of post-college, pre-marriage and kids, all-nighter memories. Shewee. Prydz actually did a remix of that one.

- Wynn is a master storyteller. As I read that I'm picturing Ron Livingston/Peter Gibbons (though the Skoal and Dew is a little more Lawrence). Perfect.

- Don't care if it's non-GYERO man, yard work is my time to be left alone and slam collides. I cherish it.

- Uses for a rake: putting the leaves in a line to be mowed. That's it, that's the list.

- I'm actually a pretty big craft beer honk but not a snob about it. If you can't enjoy an ice cold, salted Miller Lite, I've got nothing for ya'. Won't turn down any domesto if offered, ML just the one of choice for this guy.

- Don't drink it a lot during the spring and summer, but man a three finger pour of bourbon, neat on these crisp, cool fall nights is just about as good as it gets.

- Honestly pretty shocked that egomaniac Saban is letting the game go on without him being on the sideline.

- Like most others, want to beat UT but don't see it happening, especially in Knoxville. Curse, in our heads, ATKOT. Still hoping for the best and a win.

It's mostly about neck fatness rather than overall fatness. Thick, lineman neck puts your chances of the ol' dying in your sleep much higher.

My powerlifting coach shipped me a pair of knee wraps in a box he recycled from his CPAP supply company. I appreciated the irony.

@CSC81, good looking out on the Eric Prydz "Midnight City" remix. I am a sucker for EDM, but in the last year or so I am all about synthwave a la Carpenter Brut. For something completely different, check out his take on Ghost's "Dance Macabre."

50, your old doc sounds like my grandma's beloved doctor of many years who got his medical license yanked for a serious pill problem. You take it a lot better than she does though, she just says "the hospital network wouldn't let him do what he wanted with natural medicine" even after I showed her the order from the Kentucky Board of Licensure. Ah, olds.

Honestly kind of surprised you were the one that called me out on it before Geese. Maybe he hasn't checked in yet this morning.

EDM is my main music these days. Been to electric daisy carnival in Vegas and, well, lots of shows. With the correct pharmaceuticals those shows are lifelong, wonderful memories.

My daughter has these crayola no mess markers that smell like fruit. They smell great and I didn’t really think anything of it until the fact that today I caught her sniffing every marker in the house like her life depended on it. Now I’m questioning what kind of message those markers are trying to send and why they’re even made.

Changing the thermostat via smart watch without getting out of bed at night is great.

On the subject of music, back in the day a sure fire 100% panty dropper was Erotic City by Prince. If you where in the club with A girl, if that MF'er came on, you would have to be Ron Mehico to eff it up.
