Did she go with Diono seats Joey?
She got new Graco seats that seem really cheap - the same as in my parents’. But, they are really easy to take in an out. We have Diono Radians in my KIA, but they are really heavy and she can’t move them on her own.

She’s going to mess around with all of it again today, but it looks like we’ll be in a minivan by May.

*When Walmart sent the car seats, they accidentally sent an extra stroller combo and I realized that time is a flat circle. (But then USPS came and got it.)

Depending on where you want to go, now is actually a fantastic time to travel. Flights are dirt cheap. Hotels are begging for business. Tourist destinations are way less crowded. Most of us have way more free time to pursue leisure.

Inexcusable and very non-GYEROMAN of you, anth.

Yeah, traveling with an 8 month pregnant wife and 5 year old in a pandemic. Perfect timing.

Chad just quoted someone about the tax cuts causing the debt to go up. That’s wrong. Tax revenues were at all time highs before Covid.

Tried roasted parsnips last night for the first time. Not bad at all. Pretty good option if you're wanting to change up your winter veggie slate.

That's all I got. I'm just grabbing at straws here, gang.

That's correct for q1 2020 chief but 18 and 19 ran deficits above even the cbos expectation and hasn't yielded a net change to the deficit.

Spending is obviously still the biggest albatross but incorporating a simplified tax structure that widens the net and gets corporations off welfare will help us much more than continued back and forth on raising and cutting. Trump moved that in the right direction and we need to go farther.

All I know is that tax revenues were at all time highs in those years. Maybe less than expected but all time highs regardless.

Actually Boat, the more I thought about it and especially after what Sloot said (about waking them up and whether they will go back to sleep) . . . definitely go with the match. It will make your life infinitely easier if for no other reason than that.

another fall/winter option I did last week:

whole butternut squash, cubed
* bake 30-40 minutes til you can stab it with a fork
when squash is almost done, put 3 chopped garlic cloves in a pan and roast til fragrant, then stir in roasted red pepper flake, salt and pepper, and add 1 lemon's worth of lemon juice/zest. take squash from oven. dump a container of baby spinach in the lemon/garlic mixture and let it wilt; as it wilts, stir in squash. take off heat and eat. delicious fresh and also good reheated for meal prep.

I'm no fylm but I can cook a lil bit.

also feeling great about leaving the living room and the debate after 5 minutes and going upstairs to watch criminal minds reruns and eat Graeter's.

Counterpoint: the hotels suck now. No room service, bars are closed, short-staffed.

-I’m more like 9 moths pregnant seeing as how pregnancy is actually 10 months. And yeah, Pwe also have A 5 year old who is in school.

-Pretzel, that butternut squash sounds good. I like to buy it already cut up though. /lazy And because I have a large stupid kidney stone, I have to avoid spinach, but I’m sure other greens would work well with it.

-I made a really good soup last night
Creamy cauliflower gnocchi soup

Oh I also buy precut if I can find it. I have multiple emergency room visits related to cutting up vegetables with sharp kitchen knives. 😬

the precut watermelon spears at Kroger all summer were 🔥

Prefer Publix over Kroger because the beer selection is a tad bit better and their bakery/deli is on point but I do most of my grocery buying at Kroger. Am I a poor?

- Went to bed and missed what seemed to be an abject disaster last night. Good call.

- The GYERO DINK population has dwindled.

- After the Reds go up 1-0, looks like a good day to do the last bit of actual lawn work for the year (aerate, overseed, etc). I'd be lying if I said working outside during this hellscape of a year hasn't been somewhat of a respite.

- Of the new ballparks, Target Field has by-far been my favorite. It just fits perfectly in the area, has great views of the skyline from the 3rd base side and has a tiny footprint (you're never too far away from the field). The "new" Yankee Stadium has no soul... GABP was a wasted opportunity.

Speaking of landscaping, anyone have any experience with putting juniper on a hill that won't take to seeding? Seems like my only option short of just rip rapping that sucker.

There are very few things I've done more of a 180 on than Brussel sprouts. I've learned that if you grill them over open coals with a little red wine vinegar, olive oil, and seasonings of your choice, they become edible. Throw in some freshly grated parmesan and some bacon pieces once off the grill, then you have a delicacy.

Fresh Market makes things looks good, but they don’t actually carry many organic products. But I go there occasionally too.

I tried to go to the Cincinnati TJ's last weekend. Arrived to a half-full parking lot and thought sweet, won't have to wait to get in. False, line around the building. Went to Kroger like a poor instead. F that noise.

TJs is super super super super woke. Like Kyle Tucker/Dan Wolken levels woke. Strictest Covid protocols around. Wear a mask. Socially distance. 10 people in the store at a time. Save lives!

Enjoy your marked up Aldi food. I’ll be at Safeway/Kroger.

- Was completely unimpressed by Yankee Stadium as well. Loved the fans (they were playing Boston, so everyone was especially rowdy), but the park itself...meh.

Of the stadiums I've visited, it's San Francisco and then everyone else, but I do have a soft spot for going to games at Dodger Stadium. Comerica Park in Detroit is underrated. Adding Coors Field to the list next summer.

- Really happy to move GYERO away from debate talk and towards veggie talk.

- Rack Clark on the "Enola Holmes" take. The rare movie that everyone in the household enjoyed.

- The only one in my family playing fantasy football this year is the 15-year-old, who started the league as a way to do something fun with her running buddies. She doesn't know a single player, how points are totaled, etc., but she has figured out that, as commissioner, she can alter league rules whenever she likes, and has already done so twice to give herself an advantage. Have to admire that kind of mentality.

-sun or shade, irish?

-soup season is upon us. Big fan of bernard claytons "complete book of soups and stews" for those of you that use recipes...i break out when i need a refresher.

-turnips are the best "uncommon" winter veg. I make a turnip gratin that will curl your toes.

-brussels sprouts are the best. I do em in a pan.
:Fry bacon and crumble before serving.
:add butter to bacon grease
:eek:nions and garlic.
:salt/pepper(savory and/or marjoram if squirrelly)
:add Brussels and brown em.
:low heat/cover for a bit...Brussels will "steam and soften"
:add bacon and golden raisins(dried cranberries work)
:grate hard cheese(parmesan/gruyere or some such).

Enjoy.

THATS WHAT IM MOTHEREFFING TALKING ABOUT

I certainly haven’t been to them all but in my limited experience I find it hard to believe there’s a better ballpark/setup than San Diego. San Francisco is right there but San Diego is damn near perfect.

1a. Dodger Stadium - worship, baseball cathedral
1b. Fenway Park - worship, baseball cathedral
3a. Oracle Park - perfect setting on the Bay
3b. PNC - perfect setting on the River
5. Wrigley - could be higher but either too hot or too cold with no in between
