I honestly thought this was a headline from the Onion until I saw the virtue signaling Bat Signal..

I was 8 when the Challenger blew up.

How old were you? I remember the coverage but I don’t think I remember it happening live

The sandwich will initially only be available in select North and South Carolina restaurants — specifically in upstate South Carolina and the Asheville, North Carolina area.

Going to be staying in Spartanburg next Friday on the way down to HHI.

🙏

Speaking of limited time offers, Spicy McNuggets came out today.

Was 10, home from school for a snow day. Remember watching it.

Guy here in Raleigh was selling a car on Craigslist and got kidnapped during test drive. Popo show up to office to see if we have outdoor cameras since office is near where it happened. We got footage of them driving, scary ****. I can’t believe people still use CL. Still haven’t found the guy but made an arrest, don’t think it’s looking good.

On Wednesday, Sept. 16, NCAA.com correspondent Andy Katz reported that the Division I men's college basketball season will begin Wednesday, Nov. 25. Here's what we know from Katz:

  • Practice can begin on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
  • Teams will not be able to play more than 27 regular season games.
    • That is a four-game decrease from 2019.
    • Programs must also play a minimum of 13 regular season games.
  • There will not be any exhibitions or scrimmages played.
  • The Division I Council recommended a minimum of four non-conference games.
    • There are three scheduling options in DI men's basketball.
      • 24 regular-season games and up to three games in one multi-team event.
      • 25 regular-season games and up to two games in one multi-team event.
      • 25 regular-season games without playing in a multi-team event.

Big Blue Madness obviously won’t be happening with fans but I’m not really sure how they would have had it and started the season on time even if Covid never happened. They’ve been working on Rupp all summer with no events and It still looks like it’s nowhere ready to start hosting basketball in a month like it was supposed to.

I remember taking a mass media and culture class at UK and the TA asked what was the first major media story we could really remember and pretty much Challenger was the answer for everyone. Most of us were too young to remember Mount Saint Helens or the Reagan assassination attempt.

Between watching Challenger explode live on tv and Optimus Prime dying in a "kids" movie 1986 was a rough year.

13 and as Beagle said - snow day in the Jackson Purchase. Watched news coverage when I got home.

Those were great days - Janitors unlocked the gym around 9-10. Play ball until lunch. walk to Druther's about 1/2 mile away then come back and play more ball. Janitors left at 4 and either your parents were there to pick you up or walk home.

Anybody watch this WBNA channel 21 in louisville. They play all the previous big games that include UK or UL, including national championships.
Tonight was wildcat Wednesday. They showed the 2014 regional game in Indy. UK went up 2-0 and then UL led the rest of the way until 1 minute was left. UL even up 7 with 4 minutes left. Uk was an 8 seed UL a 3 seed.
What a beautiful kick in the balls that game was. Still remember the look on all the UL fans leaving that building.
I still get a little nervous watching these games.

I'm torn on this because I think there would have been many more cases in Nashville had the bars not been shut down. On the other hand, businesses and lives were destroyed.

It was definitely politically expedient to cover up these numbers.

Cliffs - 80 of 20K cases in Davidson Co were traced to bars and a mayoral aid asked the Health Dept to keep it quiet.

Thank GOD for the decreased schedule. That one game per week December pace was way too much for me to keep up with.

Yeah. Tried telling you all. This is just the first of many. Put them under the jail. Better yet, service industry, time to peacefully protest😉

-Snow day. Had walked down to a local gas station with my brother to buy baseball cards. Old-school place that had a small TV mounted up in a corner of the store near the deli counter. Watched it live.

-Interested to see what happens with the non-conference schedule. That Richmond game was gonna be a scary one. They're good.

-Wasn't impressed with the spicy McNuggets. The sauce was okay.

-Every year on 9-11 I record at least 2-3 shows of 9/11 programming (usually from History Channel or NatGeo) just to remember that day in "real time". I watch maybe an hour of it that night, maybe an hour the next day, and then I have no interest in watching any more of it until it rolls around again.

-As bizarre as a Kentucky Derby in September was, an NBA Draft at the beginning of CBB season is not too far behind.

Friday Randoms a day early:

- Around this time tomorrow will be on the road to invade Boat's territory. Not the greatest forecast for lake weather temperature wise , but we'll make the best of it. We'll see if the lass gets rowdy enough to relive her UK cheerleading days.

- Know what Chad means about Boat texts. Learned long ago not to open anything around anyone else.

- Those Winged Foot groupings. Pshewee.

- My left knee is giving me issues whenever I put in a lot of swing practice. Nothing major, just a chronic, nagging, low grade soreness. Any advice or tips would be appreciated, want to tackle it before it becomes a more serious issue down the road.

- Final two "real" stages of the Tour today and Saturday are setting up for an epic showdown. I know de Knocta is more excited than anybody and will be flying his #viveletour colors.

- It feels like it started getting dark an hour earlier within just a few days. Ugh. I love fall weather but that just sucks. Not to mention the time change only a month and a half away.

- CF and CE already been talking about Halloween costumes, though it's changed 10 times and will probably change 10 times more. Haven't been able to bring myself to tell them yet . . .

- Feels like there's an eerie sense of calm right now around the team before they show Auburn and the rest of the nation that we SEC, and our defense whips them all over the field. 9 days.

RE: Halloween- Yeah someone is gonna have to sit ol’ Maxxxx down and explain to me (if it happens) how trick or treating violates CDC approved social distancing norms.

Reds in contention... Joe Burrow making his sorta national NFL Network debut... UK priming for football... new chick Fil a sandwich... WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE

Assuming your right handed and not seeing your swing my first thought is you are snapping that left knee during the down swing. Do that enough times and you are going to have some issues. Ask Tiger

Both Washington and California have been locked down more than anywhere else in the country, but magically open up a little when they get called out for not playing college football. Kind of sad really.
