I remember @Travis Graf posting some very glowing reviews from nba scouts on Clarke. I think we have two top 5 players in Clarke and Boston in the freshman class, and possibly one will or both could be 1st team AA. Fire.

Clarke has a quick, and sturdy first step and gets to the rim against physical defenders because his strength and effortless ball handling in traffic. If his 3 ball is legit he is going to get by his man with ease in most cases. Will require league best defenders to challenge him on the dribble. He’ll be at the rim early and often. He’ll be our best on ball defender, and might push for post season awards defensively (and probably AA). Elite athleticism. Kwahi like game. Not sure he’ll be a top 5-10 player in the league one day like Kwahi, but he could be.

Hype has been o’er here.

The world does not see what’s about to happen w BB and TC. Think about this, teams will have to put their second best defender on one of them. With Sarr in the middle, this is a championship team. Similar feels to 2012.

Raw talent. Never played a single day of college ball. An AAU product which means he has ZERO coaching in competent defense. Always faced vastly inferior competition. Has never faced a solid defense or another player that sees the game as a holy war that makes or breaks his season.

I look forward to seeing how Clarke matures and develops. That said, let the kid have time to succeed. Don’t make him a failure day one by outrageously overhyping him. He’s a kid.

A lot of posters saying he’s behind Boston, Clarke is a different animal.
He isn't as good as Boston who IMO will be the #1 pick But Clarke will be no worse then 5th . People just don't get how good this team will be once Sarr is ruled eligible ( which he will be ) .This is our most talented team in good while .

Wait Cane, you think Boston goes #1 in the NBA draft next year?

He tends to exaggerate a bit.

Boston is a probable lottery pick, with a shot at top 5.

Clarke is right behind him.

I see Sarr and Brooks as high end 2nd rounders and Mintz to go undrafted and play overseas somewhere.

The rest return or go undrafted, if they declare.

So UK probably has two lottery picks and two 2nd round picks on this year’s roster. Askew, Jackson, Fletcher, and Ware will probably eventually be draft picks (probably in the ‘22 draft or later). Allen is being hyped on this board, but he is coming off a serious injury and has missed a lot of time, so he is a wait and see.

Lots of young talent on this team, but we aren’t two deep with lottery picks like some want to believe.

Can't wait to see him play.

Really excited for him! Clarke, Boston, and Sarr have to be the strongest top 3 punch since 2012 team. (yepppp, i just said that).

I admire your confidence. We did have 4 top 13 picks in 2015, and they weren’t necessarily even our 4 best players. Then we had Fox/Monk/Bam in 2017.

If this trio is in the same league as those groups, we are looking at a special season.

I agree and Cal did a phenomenal late job adding the experience of Sarr and Mintz.
Sarr was the steal of all steals . Thank Wake for firing Danny Manny man . Sarr was so much better then any other option . It is funny to think some were upset when they weirdo went to BYU over UK from Purdue. LOL Sarr is 3x the player that dork is . Kid was dropping 20/10 on teams like duke and Notre dame and so on to end last season. Add him with the most talented duo since Zion/Barrett and we are looking good.

Cal did a masterful job with bringing in some terrific talent again this season, and like all Cat fans I can't wait to see them mature and develop. Just hoping like hell we have a season, as I honestly believe we will have a potential FF team.

I agree! This team is scary good and a lot don’t even know. I’ve watched Boston play a lot this year and he is a dog. I’m telling you though man Clarke is as good if not better than Boston!

Please make sure you downplay this year's team. I am sure most people think UK will be a bottom feeder in the SEC. Let's keep our positive thoughts to ourself so maybe we can sneak up on teams like Evansville.

It’s not really downplaying them. A good example was Devon Booker, when asked what the biggest change was in college, he said the speed of the game. KAT took longer to adapt to college than he did the NBA. We have fans hyping theses kids every year and then the CLOD et al bash Cal, the kids and the program when they don’t realize the hype the first 2 games. Might take Clarke 2 games to get in the swing. Might take till February. Best to acknowledge the difficulty of the transition and enjoy watching them grow.
