Have been waiting on the Ole Miss trip to the grove. Got some buddies there with the hook up. Really hoping that doesn’t get moved up to this year.

One of the best sounds ever was when Terry hit Lynn for that 50yd TD and the almighty Swamp was SILENT. It was over. The unthinkable had finally happened, and it was on their field. Their jaws were wide open, but no sound was coming out of em. Terry TD on the sideline barking at the teams videographer making sure this moment is preserved forever. We do this ****. Amen.

* The wait for everyone to join Zoom and Skype meetings is excruciating. Like some sort of purgatory where you can't accomplish any thing, can't have music / podcasts going in the background, are terrified you left something embarrassing up in a tab somewhere, etc.

The New Normal sucks.

* NBA seemed to go off without a hitch. With the UFC and the NBA working and MLB seemingly not, the bubble approach seems to be the way to go.

Is there an equivalent for college sports? SEC Football is going to play regardless. Can college basketball go conference only and maintain players in designated areas on campuses and get enough games in to have an NCAA tournament in March?

Maybe they have to reverse the season and conference games go from December to the end of January and there is a month of non-conference games before the tourney?

At least there is a glimmer of hope that it will happen.

* I'm surprised that I haven't seen any mention about small business owners opting to move to a level funded arrangement with their preferred medical insurance carrier in order to circumnavigate some of the onerous restrictions of the Affordable Care Act, and take advantage of the opportunity to secure much lower monthly premiums if they have a healthier than average population. Assuming you can successfully go thru underwriting, rates have been extremely affordable since May.

Being a river boat pilot (aka driving big *** boats) is the most lucrative, politically connected, baller *** job in the state. So no big whoop -- they're just asking for an increase from $550k a year on average, to $700k a year. And they'll get it. WTF?

You basically have to be born into the right family to have any chance at landing one of these gigs. Insane.

- The No Limit doc has been great so far. The best docs are the ones hitting you with all kinds of info you never had a clue about, and this one is delivering in spades. Friend of a friend claims P used to drop in on Louisville and sell his wares out of the trunk of his car. Seems pretty plausible after watching this.

- Looking forward to seeing Boat in all his glory out on the lake. Will be our first time down.

- For as amazing of a team as we have on paper, the basketball team seems to be flying way under the radar right now. The overall reason for that is quite obvious, not to mention everyone just nervously focusing on whether or not college football will be played, but it's still been a little surprising to me.

- Read on one of the golf sites an article suggesting: pour a light domesto into a glass, put a whole dill pickle or two in there, let it sit a few minutes, drink. Gave it a shot, and if you like dill pickles, pickleback shots, etc., it's fantastic. Article claims it's a means of "rehydrating and getting electrolytes after a round," but whatever.

- Bryson getting into another tussle with an official, this time over fire ants. [laughing]

- So the Hillbilly Hibachi guy completed STD's challenge in less than half the time? I was up pretty late last night, and those storms were legit. Impressive.

Buddy went to Merchant Marine Academy. His classmate does same on Delaware Bay and Philly area, $500k.
You have to use their services or can't bring ship on Mississippi. No competition.
As you stated, have to know someone, fix is in.

The New Orleans-Baton Rouge Steamship Pilots Association, called NOBRA and based Metairie, guides vessels from Canal Street to Baton Rouge, and their pilots are paid an average $696,399 annually.

The Crescent River Port Pilots’ Association handles the first 105 miles of the Mississippi River, “one of the most difficult and treacherous water routes in North America” because the waterway is relatively narrow with shifting passages, sand bars and downriver currents. Pilots climb aboard the vessel and personally direct navigation going up and down the river.

1) I stand corrected; we helped source barge moves are there are a ton of companies to choose from, but I guess these clowns have to jump on board for a hundred miles.

2) There is no effing way they should be paid $700K for this crap.

3) It actually is good for the local economy that ship boat captains get paid well. There are a lot of stories about the hooker and drug binges these guys go on when they are off the clock.

On the option of 3 day weekends, give me Monday off everytime over Friday. Everyone is in a good mood and stops GAF by 2:00 pm Friday anyway. Shorter week ahead, no Sunday scaries, the works really.

Have always felt my FIL to be disappointed that I don’t fish, which he’s obsessed with. Hopefully he’ll enjoy teaching my son and then I’ll be the odd loser out.

As every year passes I’m more and more disappointed I don’t golf. Basketball has always been my love but nobody our age really plays it that much anymore/difficult to set up. But now all my buddies are wanting to do golf trips all the time.

GD I’d love to go out on a patio and drink some mixed drinks and look at girls in short skirts right now. What a **** year. The fact I won’t be tailgating and staring at college *** at least twice this year is starting to sink in. Touch corona

Apple [smoke]. Hope some of you realized PTI was full of **** and bought some when I recommended in here 7 or so years ago. It's gone up about 7X since then and you'd now have 28 shares for every 1 you bought then.

- Buddy of mine has a river industry company. I like to say he controls the industry from Paducah to New Orleans. I have no idea whether it is true or not but it could be. Has bought companies up and down the Ohio and Mississippi and does extremely well.

Working from home twice a week now. About to move my workstation to the pool for beer and bikinis.

Tomorrow afternoon I'm heading to Belterra for some simulcast pony wagering. Then tomorrow night, I'm hitting downtown Loveland for live music on a patio and drink some mixed drinks and look at girls in short skirts.

I seen a cargo barge that flipped over and given how much that thing has to cost to be split up and moved, $600K for a pilot that doesn’t eff it up is probably a bargain, honestly.

*kicks self for not taking Maritime Law class in law school*

The lack of cost visibility in the bulk marine industry is pretty astounding. If you can crack the code and digitize it for the major shippers there are $$$$ to be made.
