I’m wondering if Claiborne county Tennessee might not welcome me in the near future as SHERRIFFF ...**** sounds real nice

plus it’ll be my way of “giving back “

My grandfather built a house boat there back in the late 60's for about 5k.

Then around 2010 he just gave it away. The person who he gave it away to had a heart attack a year later and it was sold for 360k.

I’d like to hear some discussion on red wine. Ever since Italy and discovering I could drink wine and not awake to the worst hangover of all time, it’s been growing on me. Great buzz.

I hate every white and Rose I’ve ever come across, but love red. Obviously, I don’t belong in Sideways so please respect my ignorance.

All back downhill from here.

I’m sure I’ll try it one day.

Was kinda disappointed that Huber didn’t bring some to our guys weekend this summer...Harris did kinda turn his nose up to it when mentioned, so maybe that had something to do with it...I’ll probably try it someday too.

Some interesting winds blowing, powers could be aligning, big if true.

I got red wine drunk in a pinch once when I was in the Marines and people were volunteering to bring troops to Thanksgiving...I ended up retirement home drunk with some WWII vet. The hangover the next day was horrible.

I haven't drank wine since then.

Pinot Noir is a very easy to drink red wine that is light, goes with every food, and pretty much every restaurant has several of them in different price ranges. Just start there Chad and work your way up. I personally like Cabernet Sauvignon and Red Zinfandel. I also like Rose in the summer.

Surprised how much I’m enjoying this Marbury doc. Thought it was some ******** personally-produced stuff but it’s a legit look at my all-time favorite era of high school and collegiate basketball.

What a class ‘95 was - Garnett, Marbury, Mercer, Pierce, Abdur-Raheem, Carter.

Following recruiting back then was a joy.

One thing I’ve learned during all this craziness...

Even if it’s the only thing on tv, I have zero desire to watch any soccer. I mean none. Can’t even try to talk myself into it.

Now onto the second part and I completely change my take.

Apparently, Steph, who was the consummate “good stats, bad team” guy who never won anywhere, never made anyone better and was traded a million times only cares about winning and none of the losing was ever his fault. Even Fat Joe says so!

I’d suggest watching the first 35 minutes and bouncing.

This whole 2/3 day school rotation thing is ridiculous. And I understand why the schools have to do it. For optics of public safety especially for children. And obviously for liability reasons. But anyone with half a brain knows that kids have been hanging out with each other for weeks now if not months. Keeping kids out of school has nothing to do with slowing the spread of coronavirus. It’s simply to avoid getting sued.

My 11, 12, and 14 year old boys spent most of the day with their friends in town. If that makes me a bad person then so be it. But many parents where I live have made the decision to let kids be kids.

Merlot generally seems to have more flavor

Cabs are too dry for me personally and more or less make my mouth feel uncomfortable

Shiraz seem peppery somehow and never really work with what I’m eating

red Zinfandel was a recent experiment that flatuated itself- seems too watery compared to a merit

what’s the other one - sirah? No...it’s my friend Melanies favorite- dammed if I can remember it now though....it seemed flat but prickly and confusing

blends are nice to warm up with

and rose / moscato can kiss my ***

I think there may be others but they’re not that important or liked

^^ that’s PRETTY MUCH what a sommelier would tell you - it’s true

I'd like to hear some discussion on light beer. Ever since St. Louis and discovering I could drink low calorie lager and not awake to the worst hangover of all time, it's been growing on me. Great buzz.

I hate every stout and porter I've ever come across, but love light beer. Obviously, I don't belong in Strange Brew so please respect my ignorance.

We hosted a wine party and learned if the wine sticks to the side of the glass when you swirl it then you'll probably have a worse hangover than the wine with less sugar.

Enjoy!

Pittsburgh is the only city where all professional sports teams align in color schemes (black & gold for the Steelers/Pirates and Penguins)

President Garfield was tall, athletic, good looking and was both a university professor as well as a civil war general- he could write Latin with his left hand while simultaneously writing Greek with his right....he was shot 6 months after being inaugurated and died in office ~ 3 months later

his successor- President Arthur - was a member’ of THE HALF BREED PARTY (so called because they combined political sub-groups) ....I picked that up by reading my moms set of 1962 encyclopedias recently - Wikipedia lists him as a Republican but he was a half-bread man all the way ...

Calpis- is a Japanese drink that’s similar to Gatorade- used to drink it fervently when I was there — but that name is ALSO unfortunate cause it sounds like Cow-Piss when Americans say it ...yum

Bonus Japanese info - their word for “serious” is HONKI...,So if you’re asking your Japanese friends if they’re really serious about something you just say ...Honnnnki??

Guess what THAT sounds like when Americans say or hear it ?
Honkey!!! As in... fool-crackah-slow footed white jive *** Honkeys!!!

fun

So here’s some nuclear weapon trivia for you - our Air Force ICBM fleet now consists solely of the Minutemen III”s - the Peacekeeper Went offline as I was leaving active duty in 2002 - and the Minuteman Units are online in glamorous places like South Dakota and other such bucolic outposts

The Minutemen used to feature a warhead configuration called MIRV (multiple-independently-targetable-reentry “vehicles “).,..it means each Missile would go into low orbit and then release something like 6-9 Separate nuclear warheads aimed at 6-9
Different targets OR all aimed at one unlucky target)....it’s like a nuclear shotgun

We no longer use the MIRV tech and have reduced each ICBM to having one warhead each ...

But nukes have gotten MUCH MUCH smaller of course- we could use one now and you’d hardly notice .....

The movie “Night of the Living Dead” (1969) was considered a genre starter of sorts and was a cult favorite for a lot of people for a long time.....when the movie was released...the production team
FORGOT TO COPYRIGHT IT....just - forgot that part....;)

I bet someone’s *** Got Chewed at some kind of meeting or another over that

Germany was saddled with the entire F’ing war debt for WW-I — (a war they didn’t start)

Germany paid the debt in full in 2014
(
Can’t say the same for NATO dues but HELL..)

The seahawk that serves as Seattle’s NFL mascot - isn’t a real animal

Finally- did you know that there’s a Constitution Free zone 100 miles inland from our coastal and landlocked borders?

yep - technically...the Constitution doesn’t apply there ....ISNT that just a bipartisan kick in the junk ??

PS - you now have 5 months to do your Christmas shopping (avoid the constitution free areas if possible!)

Can’t wait for wcc’s upcoming topics on the newly discovered finer points of life:

- eating fine cuts of meat
- staying in hotels
- driving nice vehicles
- wearing expensive clothing
- purchasing electronics

Tune in to GYERO all day to learn more, as wcc becomes an adult right before our eyes!
He's been about 5 years behind on most milestones but he's a good decade on this one.

You probably have a better understanding of what to pair them with - I always pictured you as an academic/ literary type ...so that applies to wine somehow and NONE of what I said was weird there

I bought one bottle of MadDog20/20 when I was 16 cause i thought it would help me get into Sarah Wilson’s pants ..:it didn’t and I got sick from that nasty stuff

^ that was the extent of my wine experience before getting stationed in Germany when I was about 23 years into it

Hey Chad - Do you have a blog? You seem like you would - if you do let me know- I’d follow it
