I think this is good. Despite his talent, we have recruits more than enough for his position and it would have been kind of unfair for one in particular. If he was a center it would be a different story. He made the mistake and should have come to Kentucky when he wanted. I felt it was too late now because others had made their decisions. So glad he stuck with his original decision and another in a line of recruits that just don't learn. If Kentucky is offering you don't turn it down.

With elite player interest at an all time low, the NBA being hellbent on destroying college basketball, the NCAA being incompetent, and throw in the pandemic... CBB is all but dead in the next 5 years or so. Enjoy it while you can...

These kids won't likely regret this decision now. It comes back and bites them in their later years.

Once they get their money and fame... they will always wonder what it would of been like to play in the tournament. Perhaps for a Blue Blood and be legend for life.

No one at OK. State is even going to care who he is in 20 years for a meaningless basketball season.

Cade will have a very forgettable college career. Because of a cheating coach that hired his brother. Or should I say bought his brother. The Cunningham family made their bed, now they can sleep in it.

@TopCatCal in about 12 months that bed they made will be worth over a 100 million, I think the “Cunningham’s” are going to be just fine.

Yea, missing college ball really cost Bron and Kobe. Just think, they could have become legends and people would still remember them...so sad they lost all of that by not attending a blue blood college.

Yes lets use 2 of the most popular players ever to make your point. Maybe in 15 years if Cunningham is half the player those two are you can quote me again.

I mean, when you think of successful college basketball coaches who doesn’t immediately think of Coach Boynton???????????????

Solid logic.

I would have a ton of respect if he just came out and said “I really didn’t even wanna play college ball and could honestly care less about winning half my games let alone a national championship. Buuuuut my brother is on staff there and it’s important I follow thru with my original commitment otherwise he might get canned”. Or something like that.

Not much of a surprise, it cracks me up when kids say playing for a championship is a dream then they commit to a team that they know won’t compete for one. I get the feeling Cade truly wanted to go to UK but family pressured him to where his brother got a job so unfortunate for him. While Cade is more talented than Askew it may work out just as well as Askew’s main priority will be getting it to our playmakers.

Say what you want, still pretty impressive considering who he is and how much he could make in the G-League

The idea that “loyalty” won out is laughable. His brother being hired to gain that “loyalty” would have been considered a violation at worst and unethical or unfair at best.

Agree. Despite what some say he had 2 options stay or go make money in the gleague or overseas . To choose to stay regardless is surprising and honestly speaks well for him in the future as crap ain't always going to go your way you just gotta stick with it .

This was a lock for a long time, and if anyone ever doubted if brother served as a guarantee — well those doubts can be put to rest.
