I agree 100%. I've never met the guy, but his easygoing, and always polite manner, speaks of an honorable & respectable person, IMHO. I can honestly say I've never seen him get upset or angry on here, and that's a feat for anyone, lol.

He's "Good People", and I'm glad he's a BBN Brother.
Yes. He went out of his way two or three times to PM me and check to make sure my wife was okay, post surgery. I showed her, of course. It meant a lot to us both. Great guy.

Syracuse it is
It’s alright everyone, no need to panic. Let’s just get Sarr eligible.
Everyone will be eligible who applies for a waiver . Sarr is no different. It is funny as no other fan base is even sweating these waivers as it is open secret you want a waiver this year you get it. Tons of kids have already and tons more . I wonder if Toppin will or if he wants to sit out . He would get one too if he wanted. I know a ton of cfb kids got their's recently due to covid but since cbb ended later a lot of the kids haven't received answers yet. Only the ones who applied really early like Juzang have. Bet we hear about Sarr in 2-3 weeks. ( it takes about 6-8 weeks ) .

I'd rather have Jackson and Ware as backups and looks like UK did too.

None of them including Anselem are true centers though. Some extra depth would be a bonus regardless. Hopefully Sarr gets his waiver and then we only have to worry about maybe 10-15 minutes with those others playing out of position (or should I say positionless?).

Really wish we had a guy like Jorts on the team now that could fill that role and then have the chance to step up next year. I'm still nervous about the possibility of no waiver and having an undermanned center position. That tends to be what does us in during most of our "down years" under Cal.

Coach Cal must be really confident that Olivier Sarr will be approved for his Transfer Waiver to play immediately. There has been a couple of players that Cal could have went and signed for next year and I believe this kid would have came to UK if it wasn't for Olivier Sarr at Center next season. It makes you wonder if Coach Cal and some of the other Head Coaches have heard some things on the Transfer Waivers for this year. I know we have heard a couple of times that the NCAA Transferring Working Group has mentioned they would be more Lenient on Waivers this year with everything that happened last year to end the season. It just seems that Coach Cal is 100% confident that Sarr will get his transfer waiver and get to play immediately.

There's maybe five people in the history of this site who have never said a cross word to anyone, and HICATFAN is one of them.

I've been here over a decade and only ever see him post news articles, sincere prayers, and cheering on the Cats. That should build up some serious goodwill.
I don't mean to sound trite, but we could all aspire to be more like @HICATFAN. He's one of my favorites on the site. Gentleman is the term I'd use to describe him.

Syracuse, where big men prospects go to die ~ Melo, Christmas, Lydon, Coleman, McCullough, Thompson
Melo got himself a title. Cant lump him in there with the other guys. I remember Coleman was a guy i thought UK would for sure get, looks like one of the better misses of the Cal era

I'd say you're right on Cal and the other head coaches hearing some things. The NCAA will probably make most if not all transfers immediately eligible because of Covid, but most importantly, I think they're gonna grandfather in the transfers this season because the one time immediately eligible transfer rule will probably get passed in January anyway.

Yeah I was talking about Fab Melo, 7 footer, not Carmelo.

I remember missing on Dejuan Coleman also, but then Nerlens Noel reclassified and we got him instead. Coleman would've been overkill probably with Cauley-Stein also on the team.

Straight forward cases take 3 weeks or less from the time the submission is finalized in RSRO, not 6-8 weeks. Juzang’s waiver took 2.5 weeks.

If it drags out to 6-8 weeks, then that means that there’s been a very significant amount of additional work required with the NCAA.

I hope you are right, but it could also mean that there isn’t anyone Cal wants available either or that he has someone under consideration, but is in a “wait and see” situation with them.

I want to believe that Cal knows something in regard to Sarr, which is why he has seemingly moved on to the 2021 recruiting class with his efforts.

Cisse is an interesting situation. He probably knows LSU is going down and Memphis is a waste of time. Maybe he is waiting to see what happens with Sarr. The opportunity to start at UK has to be alluring, unless he is looking for a handout.

If Sarr’s waiver were the guaranteed, slam dunk case that a handful of posters on here seem to believe it to be, then the NCAA would’ve approved it this past week.

Point being, it’s highly unlikely that Cal has held off on further recruiting because he knows Sarr will get a waiver. There’s nothing about Sarr’s case to warrant that level of confidence (unless there was a significant issue at Wake Forest that hasn’t been made public).

Your other two reasons are much more likely. Either there’s no one available who Cal wants or Cal’s in a holding pattern until they get an answer from the NCAA on Sarr.

@HICATFAN is only a good guy because he gets to live in Hawaii. If he had to live in the same crapholes we all live (I’m in NC) he’d stay all liquored up and pissed off like the rest of us!
