I've followed Steve Forbes for awhile on Twitter for some reason -- guy has star written all over him -- get a lot of Bruce Pearl energy vibes, without the sleaze.

Wake is a tough place to build a program, especially now, but that's a great hire imo.

-The #metoo and "believe all women" crowd seems to be eerily quiet these days. That's odd. Almost like painting yourself into a corner by feigning fake outrage due to political fanaticism backfired.

-So 6 weeks ago masks were worthless, now we have graphics showing it reduces the chances to <5% if one person is covid positive and both people are wearing masks? K. All I know is they're annoying af and the second that recommendation is over mine is in the damn trash.

-Chiro visit yesterday. Didn't realize we were the only state that that closed them during covid. Fantastic. He was not ready to have 5p Beers. My back feels great though.

-Ate myself into a near coma last night. The most uncomfortable I've been after a meal. F*cking hummingbird cake, I can't stop eating that ****. Going to stick to a salad and apple today.

-Cal has to go get Sarr. Period. I don't want any f*cking excuses. He does that, let's go.

-Grandparents are the best. Especially when they buy your 4 year old an adventure kit with a very powerful whistle. So that's fun. Nice wake up call this morning.

Completely agree. Surprised he’s been available so long.

- Circa early 2000s frat shag coming in nicely. Feel like I'm ready for an 8:00am Kegs n' Eggs before a scorching hot, September noon game for which half the tailgate won't even make it inside.

- Going to be weird not seeing the towers on the skyline when I walk out to the backyard. Still get a jolt of nostalgia every time I see them. Think there were only 4 or 5 floors of males when we lived there. Fun times.

- Having the (original) Sigma Chi house just a few steps away also helped. When it came to fraternity houses, we were the Deltas to the Delts' and SAEs' Omegas. Just an absolute dump, but that allowed us to basically get away with anything. Almost. Okay, enough college reminiscing for today.

- What's up with these people on Twitter and elsewhere doing the "You know the real reason MJ left the NBA for a time . . .," as if they're the first to know about the gambling? Yeah, we've heard, fella, it's only been talked about for 25 years.

- I love the trash talking and looking down on our SEC FOOTBALL team, and from the SEC Network, no less. I like to imagine Stoops fuels the fire on a healthy dose of bourbon and disrespect in equal parts.

- I agree with Century: I believe literally nothing about the basketball team anymore except what I see on the court with my own eyes. That's it.

- Dad/yacht rock is a lot of my jam these days, but last night was feeling a little saucy and threw on some rap music. I sometimes forget until I hear him again just how great Dwayne Carter, Jr. is at the game.

- We started Outer Banks last night. Very first scene is a dude slamming a PBR, could tell right away I was going to like it. Nice escape that's really reminding me I need some salt air.

-I actually watched Wake Forest a few times this year (don't ask why) and Chad is right, he's perfect for us. He's a worker, much like Travis in that regard. It would be a HUGE get!

-I watched Gran Torino the other night. I hadn't seen it in about a decade. I remember it being a solid movie. One thing was quickly apparent. It's pure ****. Full of cliches, stale dialogue and the inexplicable casting of amateurs to play the Korean roles. Plus Clint was just going through the motions. It was like watching Olajuwon in a Raptors uniform.

-hey rudd, listen to Aja yet?

I will say I found out that one of the guys who killed Jordan's dad shot an impromptu rap video soon after the murder, flashing an NBA champion gold watch and MJ's '86 All-Star ring.

He is currently appealing his conviction, because why not.

-arrived yesterday, vern. We listened while making dinner. Enjoyed.

^admittedly ive never been a "big" fan of steely dan. That said i instantly recognized all but one song, which is a testament to the band.

-a lot of the stuff i grew up on am still drawn to isn't what one would consider easy to listen to/chill...in that light im trying to branch out to *new* possibilities. This may sound weird (as its far from obscure) but aja is a step in that direction.

Watched Outer Banks, worth a watch. One of the first lines was, “this is the type of town you have two houses or two jobs” after that I was in.

Donald Fagen and Walter Becker were perfectionists. Their music has a sharp, clean sound. They weren't your typical rock n rollers from that era. They grew up on Charlie Parker and Duke Ellington. You can hear the jazz influence in nearly every song. It's what makes Steely Dan's sound so smooth.

What kind of stupid ***** queef thinks the beach means nothing. I bet his head would absolutely explode if you tweeted his tweet to him with his name in place of the beach.

Never heard of the guy, never seen another tweet, but what a ridiculously stupid *** hot take.

Rudd strikes me as an old Punk guy. Could be way off on that one. But I could see him having a Ramones poster on his wall, maybe coupled with a Sex Pistols tape in his car.

He still skateboards, I believe.

That beach take is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Not just saying the beach sucks, but the weird metric of measurement where it means nothing because it produces nothing and has no history... WTF is he talking about? People online are working so hard to have a fresh take that they come up with the dumbest **** imaginable. And guess what goes viral?

Countdown to Ecstasy is my personal favorite.

Gaucho got slammed pretty bad, but it has some of my favorite lyrics on it. The title track is sadly poignant, if you consider that it is more than likely DF's farewell to WB. (never confirmed but the sentiment fits)

(also, Larry Carlton's solo work on Don't Take Me Alive, from Royal Scam is perfection)

Word. "Time Out of Mind" from Gaucho is my favorite Steely Dan song. Carlton's solo during the last 50 seconds on Kid Charlemagne changed my life. ;)

I also live less than 30 min from the (boonesboro) beach. [jumpingsmile] It's great and beautiful there.
