Calling the LDS church a cult. How original!

Got anything else in your bag of insults about magic underwear or polygamy? Wait, how about worshipping Joe Smith or a different Jesus?

If one religion is a cult, then they all are. They all have the same basic beliefs and downfalls. Except the Pastafarians.
My my, aren't we defensive.

I think some of you just like pushing the buttons. Many on here said they like his height, I like his hustle but those two things were never going to make him a savior on next year's team. Myself it was also another 5 fouls down in the paint and again that wasn't going to make him ALL SEC. :)

Pushing buttons?!?! Have you seen the posts on this board about him on this board?!

I think it’s more that it was somebody to play the 5 which we’re kind of lacking at the moment. He at least had experience. I mean I’m not too broken up about it but he would have offered 5 fouls, 5-10 points per game 4-7 rebounds per game and perhaps a block or 2 every few games.

I’m completely ok with this, but some this board...

The difference is a matter of degree. "Religions" like Scientology and LDS carry the absurdity to a level where they get categorized differently from the rest.

And, of course, it's also harder to take seriously religions that were invented relatively recently. We can't discredit those who wrote the Bible thousands of years ago, but we know the dude that invented mormonism was a scoundrel, as we've got his extensive criminal record on file to prove it (link).

It's not even a matter of degrees. It's the amount of people and what is already familiar to the world.

How is what one group that believes they are eating the literal body of another person any stranger than believing that a rock can heal your body or that a person can become like God or that a comet will get them to heaven?

How is Joel Osteen any less of a criminal and a fraud than say the Prophet Muhammad, John Paul II or Joseph Smith?

You can point out whatever you want about Joseph Smith, but don't act like every other religious leader is clean.

Joseph Smith Jr. was a distant relative of mine and I have done a lot of reading about him and the Mormans, and I will say it too, they are a cult.

In regards to Haarm the NBA has been mentioned a lot on here . The chances of him getting drafted whether he picked Kentucky or not was slim . He’s already 23 years old . The NBA views him as he is what he is at this point .

Give me your thoughts.

Could the Reason for us missing out on all these big guys be the fact that the Big’s want to showcase their perimeter shooting and Calipari doesn’t allow that. He prefers his bigs to play on the block and do lob dunks, tap in/put backs, rebounding etc. I really think that’s why he can’t get a commitment from a big, a true Big.

I wish him nothing but the best of luck. BYU is a solid program and it’s probably true that Haarms is a better fit there than UK. Opposing fanbases will gloat that Kentucky got beat out for a recruit by BYU, and sure they’re not wrong, but we all know it’s quite a bit deeper than that.
Maybe it's not deeper than the fact that the kid just doesn't like Cal. The swag and all.

Yep, too many here just assumed it was a done deal with their line up posts. No. I don't wish him the best. Some of your can say it. but I dont . You dont spurn our program and get my best wishes. Like I posted last week. This years Blackshear. Some never learn.
So we're just blame Blackshear everytime a big spurns Cal? [roll]

Always good to have a plan B. Or is this plan C or D at this point?

All jokes aside Cal will figure something out, hell just play small ball no defense. Have every game played in the upper 80s and 90s.
We may not be able to score that many points. We just lost 94% of our offense.

The nba has changed............ the bigs in the nba need face up perimeter skills now..........Look at Richards.. he's late 2nd round on projections...... cal's offense is no longer aligning with the nba and big men know it...

cal's always said if you dont have a legit big man down low, you are a fraud. unless we get banchero , we're gonna be a fraud i guess.. and that wouldnt of changed with haarms... dude couldnt cut it at purdue... lol if you thought he'd become a stud at uk.

Congratulations to Mark Pope. If he continues to trend up, might be an interesting option later.

Cal Cal Cal. Stop recruiting classes and start building rosters. This Sht show of #11 and #22 freshman recruit followed by grad transfer (which you said you wanted to part of just 4 years ago), is old.

Get a f’n offense that resembles modern NBA basketball at least somewhat if you want to sell yourself as an NBA players coach. Wtf are you doing?

Thank God for the 2011 NBA lockout pushing Lamb and Jones back, and for Terrence Jones deciding to bounce on Washington in the first place.

At this pace Cal will never see another ring.

That was how I saw it as well. Btw, with SEC refs, those 5 fouls would've come in handy.
