Wrong. It has killed continuity, makes team / system building much more difficult than it needs to be. Are you suggesting that poor reffing and bad luck are the reason for underachieving?
Wrong..Poythress injury or UK goes 40-0. or WCS injury or UK wins Randle runner up year. Maye hit shot with no time on the clock..another final four. UK was probably second best team in the country this year by March, Virus shuts it down. Luck has gone against Cal at UK. Zero continuity issues on these teams. Even their worst year..losing Noel killed them. They were top 25 when he went down. I'll say UK had good luck one year, Harrisons miracle threes to get them to the final.

Richards isn’t coming back, IMHO.

I am hoping we get Haarms.

Our roster next season:

G Askew/Mintz
G Clarke/Allen
G Boston/Fletcher
F Brooks/Ware
F Haarms/Jackson

Sweet Sixteen team, unless Askew is better than expected.
sweet sixteen ..lol, laughable. You'd be right 2 out of 9 times based on UK history under Calipari.....i'll let you figure out the math even though I could do it in 2 seconds.

Being a one seed and wins shouldn’t even be a comparison, the sec is night and day better than the west cost

i agrée. They’ve had slightly better tourney results as well however. And their winning % against power 5 opponents is on par with the rest of the best programs over that time.

This is only my opinion, but what if Haarms doesn't want to get stuck in the paint all game. Perhaps he wants a school that has other bigs, so he can float around the perimeter a little bit. Perhaps Cal can sell him on floating around the perimeter, but Haarms would be the only Center (if Richards leaves) and will be in the paint almost exclusively.

The reason why Sestina and Travis could shoot 3's is because Richards was a Center and would allow those two to float around the perimeter.

Maybe that is why he has a team like Gonzaga on his list, because he knows they have a Center and he can play on the perimeter. Also, their competition is not as good, so he can pad his stats a bit by playing lesser teams and still get exposure.

Gonzaga has a redshirt freshman 5 star center that will most likely start over Haarms.

I guess you didn't read what I wrote? I said he might want to pick a team that already has a Center, so he can float around the perimeter and not be stuck in the paint.

Sorry. Gonzaga is loaded on the perimeter. Not sure Haarms would get much playing time at the 3 or 4. Not sure he is athletic enough to defend the 3 or 4.

He is 7'3", why would he want to float around the perimeter? How many 7 footers have there ever been that could float around the perimeter and do it proficiently.
Is there any footage of him showing he has great handles, great long distance shooting, or great perimeter defense?

If he really wants to spend a lot of time "floating around the perimeter" then we definitely do not want this guy?

His best shot at the NBA would be to have someone like KP teach him better rebounding, shot blocking, and posting up fundamentals. Maybe stepping out and hitting a 12 footer like Richards did. I hope that is what he wants in a school. If that is his goal then I really really want this gentleman to come to UK

Askew can shoot it. Boston is decent, I believe. Hopefully Brooks improves. Clarke is not a very good shooter. Haarms shot 31% from 3 last year, not bad for a big man.

The bench has Mintz (35% career from 3) and Allen (reportedly a very good shooter).

Probably a typical Cal team, shooting 33-34% from 3 for the season with probably the fewest attempts in the SEC.

Need to make sure the right people are taking the right shots at the right times. That is the key to shooting the 3 in Cal’s offense.
DiGregorio is suppose to be a good shooter.
