U.S. intelligence reports from January and February warned about a likely pandemic

“Donald Trump may not have been expecting this, but a lot of other people in the government were — they just couldn’t get him to do anything about it”

...

The warnings from U.S. intelligence agencies increased in volume toward the end of January and into early February, said officials familiar with the reports. By then, a majority of the intelligence reporting included in daily briefing papers and digests from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the CIA was about covid-19, said officials who have read the reports.

Some of you guys have been sucking off Trump for years. Some of you are fine with "Aww shucks, no one could have seen this coming".

I'm not listening to this **** anymore. There is a mountain of evidence that Trump has handled this like an ignorant, condescending, dangerous, dumb f*ck, nitwit buffoon.

If you want to do mental gymnastics to pretend he's handled this properly, that's fine, but you're a pathetic dumbass who can't rationally think for himself.

I’m starting to think that Trump has an over-abundance of dumb luck. Like a dude that never busts when he hits in 16. Hard to explain.

I’m no numbers or data ball, but it sounds like the Imperial College has a lot of KenPom in it.
Something to this, I think, for whatever he is, he had, and has, the fortune of running against two of the most lackluster and uninspired candidates a dude could hope for. Not, like, “bad people” wise. Just as far as being able to run campaigns.

Indeed he did.

Problem solved!!
Thank you for answering at least.

Yes, he should have shut down our entire border but didn't.

Now please go on and tell me how they should have had stockpiles of medical equipment that has never happened before. Equipment that would take 12+ months to manufacture all that we potentially need. Please tell me that is his fault?

For me, this isn't political. I don't care if he is a Liberal or a Republican. This is pure stupidity.

And this is just a small fraction of the dumb things our president has said and done in the face of this epidemic.

-----

"Corona virus, this is their new hoax."

"We have it totally under control. It's one person coming in from China."

"You have 15 people and within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero."

"We really think we've done a great job in keeping it down to a minimum."

“China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!”

“The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

“Cryin’ Chuck Schumer is complaining, for publicity purposes only, that I should be asking for more money than $2.5 Billion to prepare for Coronavirus."

“We have it so well under control. I mean, we really have done a very good job.”

“There’s only one hot spot, and that’s also pretty much in a very — in a home, as you know, in a nursing home.”

“Anybody that needs a test can have a test. They are all set. They have them out there. In addition to that they are making millions more as we speak but as of right now and yesterday anybody that needs a test that is the important thing and the test are all perfect like the letter was perfect. The transcription was perfect, right? This was not as perfect as that but pretty good.”

“Going up fast. We need the Wall more than ever!”

"You know, my uncle was a great person. He was at MIT. He taught at MIT for, I think, like a record number of years. He was a great super genius. Dr. John Trump. I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it. Every one of these doctors said, 'How do you know so much about this? ' Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president."

Cult of personality is a very, very strange thing. I mean, Bhagavan "Doc" Antle evidently was swimming in hot young puss, for god's sake.

Some things just absolutely make no freaking sense.
I’m only on episode 2 but he has sex with cats, right?

It's so weird how everyone who's jumping up & down about how this is all Trump's fault just happened to hate him before all this happened.
Weird they are also in the minority (per every major poll on his handling of this crisis), yet act like their opinion is the clear majority.

Not everyone out there is a hysterical ***** is the point.

I agree PTI. No other Presidents have had stupid questions.

- Willy just has too much going on there. I will say that even the most liberal fact check sites said Trump didn't call it a hoax. He was referring to the Democrat response to his actions. And he isn't a career politician.

So lawballs and business owners, with the 2 Trillion stimulus package, is the incentive for small businesses to pay their employees salaries to keep them employed and submit the losses to the government for reimbursement?

I'd also like to add that I think this thing has been here since at least November. Had a regular at the liquor store spend around a month in the hospital for a pneumonia related problem that doctors had no idea what it was. Came close to death. She is a world traveler also.

And that sportswriter guy with the mysterious death.

So you think a novel virus, causing multiple unusual cases of ARDS and death in otherwise healthy middle aged people, would not have been noticed by our ICU doctors and nurses for months?

Liberal ignorance knows no bounds, and there are some true leaders of that pack on here.

“The intelligence reports didn’t predict when the virus might land on U.S. shores or recommend particular steps that public health officials should take...”

great... thanks for the insight. We’ll prepare for that.:flush:

The way I understand it is, SBO's will be guaranteed a loan. If they use that money for wages and utilities, that loan becomes a grant.

Been said before, just start a GYEROTICS thread and sort it out there.

Zero, and I mean zero people are changing their minds. This is only pissing each other off and will make the GYERO golf scramble weird. Or even worse, the GYERObar will never come to fruition because we can't agree on what the conservative or liberal beer list would consist of.

Be better.

Should find out more tomorrow. The "forgivable" loans are still very ambiguous. Gotta do something tomorrow bc the sick and family leave kick in Monday.

So my 5th webinar on this tomorrow at 1030. Yippe!!

The efla being aimed at <500 people is still chapping my ***.

UKO stalks Beshear on Twitter, and it's glorious. He truly thinks it should have been business as usual this entire time in Kentucky.

As a fairly hardcore conservative myself, he's just an embarrassing POS. The absolute worst level of extremist.

Like how Kyle Tucker is so insufferable that if you're progressive, you just wish Kyle would STFU --> that's UKO on the other side.

At least Kyle is a good sportswriter.
