And you wonder why so many are broke after their playing days.....now that he's got all that out of the way, let's hope he's more prudent going forward

Hate to see a former Cat struggling needlessly later in life...

WOW...200K for a car ! Stupid!!!

$1000 for Sunglasses is worse! He's not spending it wisely. Lol It's his money though so more power to him! Congrats Tyler!

meh, he's filthy rich. He hasn't even spent his first million. He's got way more than million (people seem to forget).

If you have money, if you saving money appropriately, then how much he spends on really doesn't matter. No one says "this is how much you can spend on a car". It's usually just broken down to "this is how much you should save, this is how much you should spend on housing/living expenses, etc.".

To be honest, i don't believe he broke it down accurately. 10k on dining...don't believe it.

Oh lord, people lol. Let him enjoy it. He’s got plenty left over, and seems to have a good enough head on his shoulders. He even said he has an advisor that helped him make a plan to be set for life if he never gets another contract. Everyone isn’t Antoine Walker, and thankfully he seems to have things figured out now.

Most of stuff he bought has $$ value.
Apartment must be exclusive with security for celebrity.
$200K for Mom/Dad is admirable.

I’m sure he will do whatever he can for them but yeah like 25% of what he’s spent went to cars for his parents. He bought two cars. Honestly 5 grand for rent for an NBA player is really cheap. He’s spending well so far.

The guys who go broke signed 140 million dollar deals. Bought five 15 million dollar homes, three yachts that cost a million a year to maintain, gave money to like 50 family members, bought 200k in clothes a month. Spent like a Billionaire and never counted up any of it. In five years after they went retired they had nothing in saving or investments and still spent like the cashed game checks every week.

Not quite, but I get your point.

He was spot on with that comparison. Hero’s salary his first year is 3.5 million. 300k x 10 is 3 million. 20k times 10 is 200 thousand. I don’t think he spent an outlandish amount considering the salary.

He seems to be doing well. I figured he’d succeed but seeing this amount of success his first year has me thinking he could be an All-Star one day. His money handling is just a nice bonus as a fan.

A lot of jealous *** people in here criticizing the man for his purchases. Wondering if some of you even bothered watching the video.

First thing he mentions doing is hiring a financial advisor, then creating a long term plan for retirement with the money he currently had from his rookie contract and assuming that would be the only contract he received during his NBA career. A contract where he'll make 3.6 million in his first year and guaranteed over 7 million.

Let's also not forget the hype around him this year. Dude is good, and people know it. He won't be a guy struggling to sign a contract in the NBA.

Hopefully he’s smart enough not to **** with that trash.

I wish there was a down-vote option, cause you deserve it.

Be wise young man. That’s a nice little chunk you got there but it can go just as fast as you make it if you’re not careful. Have fun for awhile and splurge, then focus on the future. Keep working hard my brother.
Exactly. 75% of basketball players within 5 years after their playing days are over are bankrupt. I'm not talking about Herro. But a lot of these guys have 10 million dollar bodies & a 10 cent brain.

He will be lucky to bring home 50% of that money due to agent fees, taxes, etc
