Bit of good news, accountant says we are getting a very small refund. Pretty close to the yearly goal of $0

Apparently, the geothermal system that came with the house is what helped out...a lot.

Do we even have a consensus #1 smokeshow in Kentucky right now? I can't think of one.

Candidates?

<SERIOUS REPLIES ONLY>

You know exactly who it is. Politics shouldn’t come into play.

-My agency is shutting its doors tomorrow indefinitely. We'll still be open/available to insureds through phone/electronic means obviously, just no public interaction. State Office already about 90% working from home - we’ve suspended all cancellations & premium due dates in the meantime - so that’s good.

Unreal times.

-Sweet. I’ve got a large auto premium due at the end of the month.

-Too much Hankshaker on this page.

-I don’t understand the “hold China accountable” drum beating. What does that mean? War? Shutdown trade with them? Unfortunately I think globalization will make that reallllly difficult.

-People in business that can’t do basic excel functions kill me. I deal with one that things it is borderline voodoo when I do a simple table or pivot

CBK #1 in the state? Maybe, she needs to eat something though, as we discussed. Trust you’ll agree.

These numbers are roughly a week old due to the time it takes for test results, no?

Yes. Private labs taking 3-4 days as send out tests, state facilities 2-3 days, and private academic hospitals that have ability to do their own is 24 hour turnaround (test only takes 4-6 hours but they’re bombarded.)

Rudd, you know it's right deep down. Just dip your toe in a little further, the water is fine.

Carry on...

Carry on with what? Me and some others shut down our business. I have a brother who’s a physician who’s treating these patients. We have some that lost their jobs. Most are working from home. We have drs on here posting about quarantining. We’re all basically quarantining. WTF are you looking for? So you want us to act like hysterical ******** and post nonsense we googled? STFU and GTFO of here

Yes my business has been deemed essential. There is a massive housing shortage in the Bay Area, as well as a massive homeless problem. If this industry dies then that problem will be magnified by a big number. Real estate is almost a trillion dollar industry in CA alone.

But I guess shelter isn’t important to you.

Mods, please ban for stupidity. Where’s CMD when we need him?

Since we’re gonna keep arguing about stats on the virus spread vs quarantine let’s look back at 1918.
Virus wasn’t as bad as predicted at first with measures in place since there was no vaccine. Then they eased the restrictions and a second, deadlier wave hit and it got real bad real quick.
Of course, that was 1918 without all the medical treatment and facilities we have now. However, we don’t have a vaccine and probably won’t for several months so the comparison is quite accurate.

-Hot dog (sous-vide) with mustard/relish and a Diet Coke for lunch. Couldn't handle another grilled cheese.

-Going to lay some fertilizer down.

-Haven't shaved since Friday. For a "shave every day but Saturday" guy this is a big F'n deal.

-Normal, everyday American life is pretty damn awesome, folks. Not going to be taking that for granted again.
