For as good of job as Beshear has done, Louisville's mayor is the opposite. Why in God's name would you have your police chief announce that they won't be responding to robberies, speeding, loitering, fights, etc etc. That's the dumbest fu@king thing I've ever heard.

Can't wait to see who is the first criminal defense lawyer to adopt the Better Call Saul model - 50% OFF!

I’m half drunk right now after the meeting I sat in on this afternoon. It’s bad.

My entire division’s office is shutting down and starting tomorrow we’ve been told to expect to work from home until July 1. Doctors and nurses in our system are testing positive left and right in some markets and having to be isolated. Rationing and shortages of medical supplies and equipment within thirty days without massive suppression of this and government intervention. The math people are saying 90 days out without massive suppression is very bleak.

So yeah. Good times.

Well, HOPEFULLY, and most likely those jobs aren't all gone and they're unemployed because it makes more sense to allow them to get UE than stay open during heavy regulation OR they were forced temporarily to close.
This is probably a large percentage of it. Likely what my company will have to do. Although it sounds like construction is going to be one of the last industries that’s going to be shut down. Glad we’re keeping Lowe’s/Home Depot open.

*our tenant, whose eviction hearing was scheduled for today- which is over a month after she was given notice, had her hearing moved back to "at least 45 days" at which point she will have lived rent free for 6 months. She informed our property manager that she will be quitting her job to rely on only government assistance so none of her wages will be garnished. (i'm not certain if that is an actual policy.)
All good and well if she wants to live on government assistance forever. Which she may.

And yeah, staying the obvious.

- Enjoyed a nice, sunny St Patrick’s evening in the backyard with the boys. Balls bouncing. Swingsets swinging. Cold Guiness. Dropkick Murphy’s on the speaker. Weber kettle fired up. My almost two year old, who is Patrick, had a fantastic time running around in the sun enjoying his feast day.

- Then dad remembered that “all of this” could go up in smoke imminently and everything he was gazing at could be soon living in the woods, hunger-game style, competing for foodstuffs and ragged. Then dad got drunk.

- My ******* dad was bitching today about how they shut down the steam room at Five Seasons this morning. But he still got his normal workout in, at least. *******. Boomers better be careful with this ****.

- I stayed home today with three little boys while my wife went to the office. They are absolute savages. Thought I might get at least some remote work done. False. The remote learning for my first grader took three hours. And the rest of the day my four year old screamed that he hated me. His best line was “I hate that you love me.” And my youngest had the *****.

- Awfully anxious times right now. Those of us who have little ones depending on food and shelter - whole different level of anxiety. I don’t have to tell you all that. Prayers and good vibes going out to folks like 73 who have already been affected. We’re all smart. We’ll get through this, and we’ll survive. That’s why we are who we are.

73: *gets laid off today*
Krazy: 73, you got any hookups for me from the job you’re not working at anymore?

yea dumbass, I got 3 possible 4 story hotels I can create some work for him out there if does. I’m aware of what he used to do and happen to know he did a good job.

Same company I got the hotel contract from for Bardstown.

So yea if I can help the guy out while he gives me a person I somewhat know on the west coast that I can trust, I most certainly will connect some financial dots!

Saw a stat that says medical personnel who have been treating victims, now comprise 12% of the reported infections.
If true that is effing terrifying and suggests possible mutation.

I'd say we're getting pretty damn close to rolling out martial law to enforce the soon to be unveiled restrictions
and that is when **** will really hit the fan. People cannot be trusted to do the right thing and it will only get worse
as pressure mounts and reality finally sinks in.

Time to allocate that massive military money chest to the corp of engineers to build as many facilities as fast as they can
and help establish the nationwide network of support chain we will so desperately need.

I’d think that was the worst worst case scenario, Jesus. Martial law? Let’s take a big deep breath and step away from the Internet for a few.

Thanks for dropping in. Congrats on the panic attack and thanks for providing a bunch of useless unverified information that is of no practical value except to try to feed into the madness. Good luck.

Unverified? Watch what happens to California and New York in the coming days and then get back to me.

You can't wish this away...evidently our new reality is beyond your ability to fully grasp.

I'm not taking it lightly at all. All that could happen, but what else can we do except comply with the advisories of the experts?

Kind of like what Rotella teaches, Train and Trust. After you do everything that's in your control, have faith. Panic, worry and micromanagement not only will do no good, it's all counterproductive.

And won't do much else but drive you crazy.

~ Work is going to an A/B team of 10 people each with one week on, one week off. No direct access to the public any further. Just feel grateful to have a job.
~ Wife is a teacher and will be "teaching" from home, once again, immensely grateful that we both are secure in our jobs.
~ Heart aches for the elderly who are in desperate fear of this virus, those who are losing their jobs and the many folks who are dealing with a multitude of other issues during this time. I have a former coworker that just started chemo at 36 while all of this is happening. The perspective is definitely welcomed.
~ I love GYERO but fear I may need to shut you off for a bit. Head over to the Winchester, grab a pint and let this whole thing blow over.
~ Be kind out there.

The Imperial College report is terrifying. Had heard those numbers bounced around, but to see the actual report...****.

Life is about to get really, really weird.

MoC, assume you’re in Nashville? Tell the HCA folks to get their ish together with regard to streamlining an effort with Ascension/Vandy/WMC for triage/testing so the PCPs/EDs aren’t more overrun than they already are. Vandy is carrying the entire region for this right now and they’re exhausting resources and people.

This all touching sucks.
