Most liberals I know are people who have lost at the game of Life. SAE seems to have been dealt a pretty good hand, so he is one that baffles me. Yes his wife is the bread winner, and calls all the shots, but other than that, he doesn't have the doom and gloom scenario he portrays.

-although church has been cancelled!!!...as director of "care and concern"* at fpclex, ive been tasked to convene w/ ministers and other luminaries noon sunday to discuss/implement a plan to look after our most vulnerable members during this situation. I cant catch a break.

*its ok to laugh...the irony isn't lost on me either.

Peter Burns suggested they do old SEC football Mystery Science Theater style (or Cheap Seats).

But it would be cool if they commented live - going in cold. They could still play the archival play-by-play and just shoot the **** like they do on the NCAA “fan” broadcasts.

That is our best case scenario, bar none, of anything that we could possibly catch a break on right now.

Talk about an empty title. Show care in being concerned and set up a call-in. Man.

“Hey, ‘Care and Concern Director’ get over here. Come closer. Can’t hear you come closer. What? Yeah, we need to figure out to help them not get colds. -Hey, try this candy apple I don’t want the rest. No, just try it. C’mon. Try it for a fellow deke. C’mon. The caramel is really good. Try it. Here.here.here. Good, huh? Your mouth is closed. You can’t tell. No you can’t. Stop nodding. OK, then what kind of apple is it?”

“Gran-”

“Ha! Tricked ya. It’s good, right!? Anyway, what should we do? Is it really like the flu or is it more like allergies? I think it’s just good old allergies in the Bluegrass - which most people can’t comprehend. They just don’t get it, you know? Lord help ‘em, but they need our guidance in their time of need. Anyway, I’ve got to run to Kearney so I’m gonna dial you fellas up and put’cha on speaker in my Tahoe. Thanks for coming out on short notice, the flock appreciates it. Bye-bye!”

-i dont know what you're saying, joey. But it made me chuckle. Thanks.

-ministers called the meeting...6 or so folks, proper social distancing practiced. The actual contact/check ins with the vulnerable will be made via "the telephone".

I'm going to have a march madness party where we drink all day and watch UK FF and Championship games.

This time, when we beat UL, I won't have to keep quiet as to not spoil it for the other room.

Just pretending that they aren’t listening to you even thought you’re the guy they should be listening to and then they do everything possible to accidentally get you sick without knowing it.

i.e. Projecting my work life experience as I packed and wiped all of my **** on Wednesday (to WFH thru next week) and my coworkers pretended to lick stuff and then accidentally did lick stuff, repeatedly.

I will grant you, that your wife being the bread winner and calling all the shots WHILE only working part-time, is a bitter pill to swallow, I still think you sell your " dealt hand" a little short.

I just think everyone needs clarification on "dealt hand". It implies a silver-spoon type advantage, which I've never understood to be who SAE is, at all.

If it's not that, then it would have to be life choices - but those don't qualify as a "dealt hand", because those are SAE's own choices.

I mean, I hate him and all, but I'm just trying to clarify exactly why I should.

In terms of the psychiatric stages of grief, I think I’m now in the “come to terms” stage.

As in, on a 42 degree and rainy Saturday in March, is there really not only going to be no CAYTS, but no sports whatsoever? No bowling? Not even professional bullriding on ABC at 1:00? No, there is not. There is nothing.

Your options are to spend quality time with your kids, bill hours, or mainline heroin.

I’m seriously about to start the 2014 UK-Louisville Sweet 16 game here in a few.

Started the Pale Horse on Amazon...not bad so far. I like Rufus Sewell.

I prefer Outbreak best of the viral movies.

Old Chicago for dinner. Hope everybody washed their hands.

Wife wanted to go. We visit maybe 2-3 times/year. It’s fine.

Not sure I’d call it a hole in the wall though, or that I insistingly love.

That's what's so damn depressing - not only are local in-person activities cancelled (I was REALLY enjoying my son's HS senior year of sports and am borderline sick about it), but there's no freaking reprieve.

Can't block that out and turn to televised sports - my internal calendar of watching cbb for 45 years says it's time for some excitement. But no. OK, NBA? Enjoyed watching Celtics-Lakers on Sunday, I could make do with NBA - but no. Golf then? No.

Guess it could be worse, this could pre-date internet / streaming.

The '93 blitzkrieg of WF never gets old, I watch it a good 2 or 3x a year. GD I miss that style of BB...
