It is hard to believe another regular season has come and gone. This was a roller coaster of a season. Cats finished 25-6, 15-3 for 1st in SEC play. I think, all things considered, I’d give it a B+. Had some good wins and some head scratching losses, but that was the story of college basketball this season.

Up and down, but I still think we are one of the teams who have a good shot to make it to Atlanta.

B-

I know, I know. I’m being harsh. But you can’t lose some of the games that we lost this year.

Having said that, there were some really great games, exciting come backs, big wins and we beat Louisville.

To this point A- or B+ .as we are about what I expected before the season one of the 5 best teams with a shot at a title. I can't hold the USC or AU losses against the team as those were more the faults of the refs then the team itself .

B-

Won SEC which is awesome but the losses to Evansville and Utah puts a small dent in it.

I'd say an A--.

Pros:

Regular season champs
83% conf win %
81% season win %
Beat U6...then ranked #3. But U6's ranking really doesn't matter as long as UK beats them!
Beat Mich St..then ranked #1
Recovered from 18 pt deficit on the road against the gators
8-2 on the road

Cons:
17 pt loss to UT on Senior Night at Rupp
Evansville
Utah
SC

When you think about EVansville, our laxidaiscal play and the Hagans debacle.. you're tempted to give this team a bad grade.. yet there we are, only 6 losses heading into conference play and one of the hottest teams in the country right now.

I give them a B, at minimum.

A There was widespread panic on this board earlier in the season and then we end up with a big winning streak and another SEC title by a comfortable margin, even with some negatives going on at the finish. Can't see how it could be anything but an A after all the stuff we had to go through to get there.

If I checked the grade book right now we have a C+. Evansville loss is like failing a major exam. UT another major exam both weighted. Lots of As and Bs along the way some Cs (Ohio state, almost losing to ole miss at home., etc) some Ds (USCjr UTah)

Now it’s time for the final exam. Title, A for the course, FF A on the final. Elite 8 B for the final, sweet sixteen a C worse than that a D-F.

I'm glad no one is grading your reading comprehension, since the thread title clearly said "Grade the regular season." But none of us are under the misapprehension that you are a Kentucky fan anyway. So your grade won't be averaged in with the others.

B.

That 8 game stretch moves us solidly out of C range to a very good team.

Now. We win the Sec Tourney? B+

Make it past the Sweet 16? A-
Final Four? A
And of course if we win it all? A+

I think grading the regular season needs a bit of context

How much/little did I enjoy the season
Did the team come close to it's true potential
How does UK's season compare with the rest of college basketball

With these criteria in mind I believe it was an A-/B+ season.Assigning only one grade I go with A-

B++ We won the champions classic game, beat Louisville, won the sec by 3 games. Swept Florida. Win our big 12 challenge game. Evansville was an anomaly. Getting swept in Vegas was disappointing. That kept from giving the an A.

Inexplicable home losses prevents an A. I'd would still have slid a A- if we didn't choke against Ewetee at home. The come back short handed at Florida saved between half and a full grade but overall winning the SEC by three, lots of quality wins and six losses is very nice regular season so a B- would have been too harsh.

Calm down, calm down...I'm kidding. I figured I had to explain my joke to some people on here. Anyway, I would say a solid B+, maybe an A-

B+

we started out VERY injured. I think our whole starting line up was "?" early part of the season, which disrupted so much. (if we lost these games fully healthy, i would say C+)

We won SEC, so that's the highest award we can achieve during regular season.

Now starts the post season.

I might be grading a little hard, but the losses early to bad teams has to be considered if you're grading the regular season. Also, two home losses to bad teams has to be taken into account as well. Now, UK did right the ship and finished really strong considering all the intangibles for the Fla game.

I would give them a B. Yes, I know they won the SEC. WOn 8 straight and some really tough road games, etc.

Now if you're talking seeding for the tourney. I think the case can be made for UK getting a 2 seed. Won SEC. Beat MSU, UofL, Texas Tech. As good a resume as anyone else vying for a 2 seed imo.

B+ for me as well, we won lots of big games and only lost to Auburn and Ohio State in a big game. Problem is we lost to Evansville and Tennessee at home and to South Carolina and Utah away and on a neutral court.

That being said we won A lot of games on the road and have the potential to make a run, especially with the landscape of college ball this season.

I look at it in two parts.

2019 portion would be a C. Great wins against MSU and UL offset by horrible losses to Evansville and Utah. The rest of the schedule was pretty meh, thus the C.

2020 portion would be an A. Win the SEC by 3 games. Pick up a strong out-of-conference road win against Texas Tech. Win at LSU, and cap it off with an incredible 18-point road comeback at Florida facing really difficult off-the-court issues.

Overall, I'd say a B+/A- giving more weight to the second half of the season, which is really the only fair way to judge a Cal team.
