That was not his cash....Last year after the season ended and our guys that were going pro signed with agents, there were videos of some of them sporting new rides.....Who was it that posted the video?? Ashton Hagans. His Snapchat has always been a thing. He is a kid, showing off, no big deal. That's what kids do. He made a video showing off P.J., Tyler and Keldons new rides after the season when they signed with agents. These guys also come back to campus occasionally, including a few weeks ago during NBA All-Star weekend. Ashten very well could have been showing off a stack of cash that one of the former NBA players had on hand showing off. It's not a big deal from that perspective. Video halfway down the page in the link.

So is this you admitting you were way off and me being naive to wait for the story to come out and not believing it was from an agent without any sort of proof?

Doesnt sound like it. Maybe next time on the message board before you jump to conclusions then look silly literally within 5 mins you reserve judgment. ESP for one of our own.

Im not gonna go back and look you can do it. There were at least 2 who mentioned that without any evidence or proof to back it up. Thought you were one of them.

I know you were the one who literally 5 mins ago called me naive for believing he got the money from a friend when that is EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED.

Anything to say about that?

prove Cane's story is true without a shadow of the doubt

Nope the negative nancies like to assume the worst and call you naive if you want to hope for the best and wait for everything to come out. Then when they are wrong they take no accountability and they didn’t say anything was a fact. Same with the team, we play bad we are a sweet sixteen or NIT team, then we turn it around and win and they always wanted us to win

I've never understood the mentality behind posting videos/photos of yourself with large amounts of cash. It has to almost totally be a "look at me" kinda move. Of course I'm speaking from the perspective of being a 52 year old who has just enough experience and wisdom to not advertise stuff like that.
I would have hoped the counseling UK gives to all of it's major sports star athletes would have prevented things like this from happening.

Because their speculation isnt baseless whiny ******** and does no harm whether they're right or wrong.

Guessing it might be an agent does no harm either. NCAA doesnt do anything based on what we guess. Some of you are so damn paranoid.

Now if someone said they know its what happened............ that would be harmful

I think it’s hilarious that all within the span of about five mins they went from Ashton taking money from an agent and everyone who wanted to wait for more info or who had the gall to ask them to wait for more facts to come out were naive and silly to literally the truth coming out and being exactly what we had all been saying—nothing to get worried about yet, it’s money form school or a friend.

Then when they get to be made completely silly, their only defense is well this is a message board, we are all just talking. Haha. Just bc you are talking doesn’t make you right. Also, have the gumption to own up to what you said. Love the whole well prove my negative story isn’t wrong assertion. Can’t prove a negative there genius.

Honestly I’m just happy this was all a big nothing burger. Sad that some of our fans first allegiance is with the UL trolls tho. Should tell them something.

I think some of you are making a mountain out of a molehill. That money could easily be from pell grants and student stipends.

Prove it's not.

Now instead of admitting they looked like fools, the fans who immediately pounced and assumed the worst have taken literally the most ignorant stance possible.

You can’t prove a negative. Everyone—with a modicum of sense—knows this.

Prove that you don’t beat your wife. Prove that aliens didn’t land on my lanai five mins ago. This is their counter argument?

I didn’t see anyone saying the money was from an agent. A few brought up the possibility, but none assumed it was. The only point I made in the whole thread was that posting the video regardless of the origins of the money was blatantly stupid and irresponsible. That much is a fact.

Couldn't really understand all the lyrics, but I think it went something like this:
"If my nose was running money hunny, I'd blow it all on you"... "but it snot".

There was ZERO call to even mention that especially when they didn’t know the whole story. That’s the point. Whether someone said he took it form an agent for sure or not is incidental. To insinuate the possibility without any context or evidence is what our troll rival fans do. Not UK fans. And it was a bush league move regardless of how any of them to to rationalize it.

Within five mins, it was proved wrong. Next time, they should wait when it’s one of our own to even suggest such a thing is possible. With UK, perception is reality with some people and it’s bad enough that some of the media and talking heads are quick to judge. UK fans should not, especially with their own.

the fool is freaking paranoid that making a guess is gonna light UK on fire LMAO.

UL and rival fans are saying the money came from UK and Boosters on social media and their message boards..................... but speculating from an agent where he sits and no one gets in trouble is worth demonizing us over????????? good god

We're about 8 hours from "Glad to be wrong but it was still stupid" in the same way the same fans had us in the NIT every November and then show back up if we lose in the tournament.

I don’t disagree, but again, don’t do stupid stuff and put yourself in this position. I hope it’s a lesson learned.

I said first thing it was a stupid move to post the video. Haven’t seen a single person refute that.

But, what some “UK fans” in this thread did was uncalled for. Then when they got made to look silly within five mins of their idiotic posts, they immediately rationalized and made excuses and everything they could but own up to the fact they made a mistake and aligned themselves with the troll UL fans.

That’s my whole point. I was upset as it happened but I’m over it now. Hopefully they learn their lesson. I won’t hold my breath.

Well there you have it . Wasn't even his cash and was from a few weeks ago anyway. The UL troll did his job starting this thread though as it got the attacks from the usual suspects on Hagans .
Where in that tweet did it say it wasn’t his?

Regardless this is just another action that shows how immature he is. Kids like him shouldn’t even be allowed to have social media while at UK. He isn’t smart enough to handle it. God help him if he actually gets a NBA contract. He will will blow it all within a year.

I don’t believe any of those guys jumped to any conclusions. I think they were just afraid of the possibilities.

Ashton, overall, does seem like an awesome and good dude. Plays hard, supportive of his teammates during games etc.

That being said this is absolutely idiotic of him to do. Like you’re suspended (or knew a suspension of sorts was coming) when you post this yet you do it anyways? He’s obviously trying to flex on Snapchat. I didn’t see how much it was but I guess it could be financial aid/ grant money? I got about $2k per semester back when I was in college but that’s not what he was trying to imply here.

What matters here is the illusion he’s trying to put off. Stacks and stacks of cash. Where’d it come from? He doesn’t work... so where? why boast about it- show it off this way? Really damn stupid.

Edit- and this isn’t a “get off my lawn!” type thing. I have Snapchat, that’s all good. It’s, again, the illusion / flex that’s trying to be portrayed here.

They said UK compliance had already addressed it aka non issue
It said they were aware of it and had addressed it, but said absolutely nothing about the outcome. That statement doesn’t really say anything as to the results. No where in that statement did it remotely indicate it was a non-issue. By saying they had addressed it, it could mean they turned over some information to the NCAA. That could mean info showing there’s nothing to the money or it could be different.

I think we'll hear at some point he got money from an agent.....

You cant stop a player from taking money from an agent ........... all you can do is suspend them afterwards like Cal did

show me the post where someone said he for sure got money from an agent

I cannot believe the numbers of people who enable bad behavior and want the guy back at this point. Reality in this day and age doesn’t matter. Perception does. The perception is that hagans is about hagans and that’s it. If cal allows him back after this or allows him back 100% back to his old role everything it will be a very bad thing. There has to be reprocussions for bad behavior and stupid decisions. Hagans with stacks of cash flaunting it on social media should be the last straw for everyone. We have guys who are serious about playing, doing the right thing and winning. Why even gamble with a guy who is repeatedly doing the wrong thing?

He is going to blow all of his money because he takes Snapchat videos with cash? I don’t see the connection he wasn’t spending money stupidly he was holding cash
