An inexcusable travesty

This team just choked away any hope of a top 3 seed at home, with a 17 point cushion, against a garbage team that will barely make the NIT. Nick and EJ were so thoroughly dominated by their front line they should ask for some signed jerseys after the game. Quickley and Maxey disappeared and Hagans is just lost.

This has been a long time coming, winning all those close games was luck. The SEC should be embarrassed that we won the League title with a week to spare.

We will be lucky to make it past the second round. This team is. It very good. Anybody that thinks otherwise hasn’t paid attention. Good teams eventually pull it together and start destroying teams.

Definitely the worst 15 minutes of basketball we have played all year. Very strange that no one could get it together for that long of a stretch. We were due for a loss. Sucks it came at home to UT after leading by 17. We still have a team capable of a run in the tourney. This one loss doesn’t change that, though it sucks in the moment.

All 3 guards just completely lost it out there. Panic and sped up. Just terrible. For 3 point guards, not a single one knew how to dribble and pass like one. No way does that group lead a run into the NCAA's if that's how they're going to play.

Replicate this 2nd half and “one and done” will have another meaning.

What do you mean they will "use this"? You mean, seed according to how talented a team is. Tonight proved this isn't a 2 seed. That's for sure. 4 seed would be reasonable at this point.

Realistically we should drop to a 3 seed. Thats my point. But they will push us back further. Thankfully, a 4 seed isnt a terrible spot this year.

There is a pattern here that is truly ridiculous.

WHY does Cal SLOW this team down when we get a big lead and it has ALWAYS resulted in the opponent coming back???

I realize Ashton's poor play is a big part of it, but so is our Bigs giving up SOO many rebounds.

That GOOFY Fulkerson outplayed our 2 McDonalds All-Americans PITIFULLY bad!!

This may be the MOST frustrating of all of Cal's previous teams.

We looked like sh** the last two minutes especially when we tried to make a move we couldn't even get a rebound or pass the ball. You could feel it coming with 10 minutes left, we couldn't stop Fulkerson of all people. He had a career night and we couldn't stop him, sad.

Hagans' is digressing, not sure what is going on but all the talk of him being a top PG in the nation is based on past performance. Lately, and I don't mean just the last few games, he can't hold onto the ball, can't finish at the rim and his shot elsewhere isn't any better; only his defense makes him anywhere near elite. That being said, this game was a team loss, not on Hagans alone.

Coaching, no offensive flow or strategy except be better than the man that’s guarding you.

We definitely can't hold a lead for some reason...

Don't want to see another word on this board crying about our seeding or ranking. Good teams don't lose 15-point leads at home in March.

Whatever we get at this point is what we deserve.
Yeah man, I’m done looking at all the brackets and arguing about computers, they get what they get at this point. Just awful loss!

A bad Tennessee that had nothing to play for beat us on senior night when we had everything to play for. The main reason is they just wanted it more. They outhustled us and just plain beat us because we quit after building a lead. That’s just inexcusable. No complanning about our seed this year.

This program needs players and a staff that understand ball movement. All this standing around and bad turnovers goes the other way for layups and missing 2 foot shots guards go the other way we can't set up our defense.

But UT took it at us we couldn't stop them. They ran better offense had better play makers and a better coach.

It's been a long season. Is the NFL season here yet???

It will be worse next year, at least with this team players returned. .

Rupp Arena - where opposing players get to be Michael Jordan for a day. Tennessee just punked us in our own gym, the most overrated arena in the nation. But we’ll get to a sweet 16 or an elite 8. We might even win the SEC tournament. But can we play well for six in a row? I think not.

This board is joke. That is all.

it is when we lose.

Watching the story of the Vermont kid tonight and understanding that things could be a lot worse than a loss.

a loss sucks as a fan, but it isn’t as devastating as REAL things in life. Some folks really need some perspective. I suspect they won’t get it through this dialogue.

They will use this to keep us in the 4 line. Thats the worst part about this.
Exactly. Had a 2, now it gives them every excuse to give us a 4. However, I’m not afraid of any of the ones. Yes I would rather not play Kansas, but the others I’m not afraid of.

I am on the “we needed to lose” train, but not in this fashion. That was easily the worst 10-12 mins of basketball we played all year. I’m fine with a loss if we played good and didn’t digress. I really hope Cal gets them on the same page by Saturday. If we play badly and lose to FL we will be lucky to stay on the 4 line. Once again we can’t hold double digit leads. I can’t remember a UK team that has given away so many double digit leads in SEC play. Time to get right or start looking forward to Boston and Clarke.....

This team lost at home to Evansville, Cal’s worst loss ever at UK. Team has now lost two games after having 10 point leads after only 6 in previous 10 years.

The down year in college ball has given the Cats a chance but it’s not one of Cal’s better teams, certainly in the bottom half.

Yet UK is still in the hunt.
