The ability to rely on freshmen has everything to do with how good the freshmen are. Maxey, Brooks and Juzang aren't taking you anywhere. Davis, MKG, Teague can.

Back in the late 1800s people were spiking booze with ingredients like iodine and arsenic to either enhance the flavor or just as a filer to make money. So of course the gubment sees this as a great way to save the people(make money) by offering tax incentives to distillers that adhered to certain standards. The main ones being 100proof and lacking poison.
Out west last week, downtown San Diego, 3 bottles of Eagle Rare on shelf $35.99. 2 bottles of Stagg Jr for $106. Bourbon balls, assume the Stagg was overpriced, no?

JMO but McKenna has a lot of variance in their barrels (duh!). You'll find some that are very good but more than most are pretty underwhelming. It's hit or miss.

my oldest has started watching the simpsons with me on Disney plus. He also watches family guy when he’s alone in the iPad. I know this because he doodled in pretty accurate detail all of the main characters this weekend. I guess I should be concerned but when I was his age I watched Beavis and butthead and “edited for tv” versions of late night soft core porn on basic cable. I remember getting the Weekender from the LHL and browsing the 1-3am timeslot on USA network. Always good for something like “bikini canyon” or “caveman on ***** island”.

The best ages for bourbon are between 12-18 year. When you start on a 53 gallon barrel you have 240 bottles, and by the time you get to 12 year I average 130 bottles at barrel proof.
That’s just not a lot of yield for the wait, so the price has to be worth it.
If you don’t like bourbon, that’s great,
especially in today’s market.
But if you do, and the most you will pay is $40-100 then you are simply missing some awesome bourbon.
That isn’t to say secondary is fair, because I hate secondary myself, and I hope the Van Winkles keep pushing to shut it down completely.

This is why I stick to Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash. The price always hovers right around $1.59 for a two-liter, and it's always FRESH. None of this "aged" stuff.
Small little problem. Who is going to be Terrence Jones and Doron Lamb ? Darrius Miller ? Because without those 3, we wasn't winning ****.
I am no bourbon ball, but thought i did very well with the Old Barton .750 ml for $11.99. Wonder what it would go for without the outrageous secondary market ? $7.99 , $8.99 tops ?
