Just heard the AD is out. With the way the basketball team’s season has gone with such high expectations, could Izzo be gone?

Ridiculous. The guy's won a national title and been to like seven or eight final fours, his most recent coming just last season ..and you think he might be fired?

Some of you knuckleheads might consider stopping and thinking before you click to post. This is a dumb thread.

I didn’t say fired. I said gone. I also didn’t say I thought anything. Just posing a question for discussion.

As for being dumb, maybe the way you read the post it was dumb. The way it was written was a topic to be discussed. I hear that’s what these message boards are for.

Let me think real quick...... yea...post

Izzo is untouchable. He could have 30 Travis Walton's come through there and they'll leave him alone because he wins basketball games.

I don't think he's ready to hang up the shoulder pads and come home to God's Country to catch Northerns and Walleyes just yet.

I personally don't think is going anywhere. He won't find a better gig and they won't find a better coach. The only way he leaves there is if there were some substantial scandal.

This is without question the dumbest thread I have ever seen on this board. ;)

They didn't fire him when he covered up when his players raped that female student so they will never fire him. He is there for as long as he wants to be

Izzo will be leaving at some point but (like Cal, K, Roy, etc..) it will be on his terms and when he decides he is ready to go.

Anyone close to the situation.. anyone who can even follow a timeline.. knows that he didn't just step down. Dude was fired.

No doubt, and it's not far fetched to think that Izzo will be faced with the same "please leave or we'll make you" arrangement

Possibly. I'm not sure he will get fired.. but I think there's the possibility for him to get out now. The school is in trouble, they have a cloud hanging over them, he's getting old, he doesn't like where the game is going.. he seems tired of it.

Not sure what the future holds for MSU basketball either. 32nd ranked incoming class. Langford, Winston and Ahrens are gone, maybe others.

Ultimately, I do think he stays.. but it's typical of some posters here to be so think-headed that they can't look at possibilities.

I agree, Sparty future doesn't look very bright and they have taken heat and do have a bit of cloud hanging over the program right now. Having said that , that cheating *** Rug Doctor and strong *** offer Will Wade should walk off their school campus's today with the clouds that have hanging over their programs. !

I’d be shocked to see him go anywhere, but nothing surprises me anymore in sports or life in general, for that matter

It probably depends on who the new AD is (if a new one is being hired). The school’s athletic program has a cloud over it and someone might want to change the culture. Crum got pushed out at UL and he was a HoF coach as was Pitino too. Izzy might not have involved in a scandal the size Pitino was in and he is having more success than Crum was at the end of his tenure. But a new AD or Prez at the school might want to clean out or have their own man in mind.

Remember to add Joey Hauser to MSUs roster next year who will be very good and have two years left to play.

Izzo is still all in trying to get Emoni Bates as well (I doubt whether he plays in college)
