You now have Auburn , SC going to FF and a football only school challenging UK for supremacy in the conference. No thanks...I'll take the dominating back. We had beaten Auburn 14 times in a row and now are 3-3 in last 6 and could be on the down side after today...be careful what you ask for.

What a dumb post, better competition means better prepared for the tournament. If you want to win playing low quality teams then you might want to cheer on Gonzaga.
Let’s just join the A-10 while we’re at it so we can be like Gonzaga and beat up on all on conference opponents. At least when we flame out early from lack of quality opponents to prepare with we can say we won our conference.

I’ve said it for years.....Kentucky doesn’t need the SEC to do well for Kentucky to be successful. The Kentucky program stands on its own.

The reality is that since the mid-70's someone in the SEC has been challenging Kentucky but not one team has sustained continuous success. It was Alabama and Tennessee in the mid to late '70's, LSU in the early '80's, Auburn in the mid '80's and Arkansas in the early '90's. However, most of those teams have been up and down and and not one of them has posed a serious threat consistently. Now it's Auburn but history tells us that it'll change in a couple of years. The conference is definitely overall better but Kentucky is still the measuring stick. Let's hope we can again establish our dominance but you're right about the competition getting better.
When the SEC was terrible in the first half of Cal's tenure we were going to the F4 almost every year. Since the SEC has gotten better in the last 5 years we have not been back to a F4. Correlation? Or is it that the SEC is a lot better and we have gotten way worse? 2016, 2018 and this year are way below our standards.
Ask yourself this, why was UK the only school to recruit them? Everyone else knew they sucked [eyeroll]

Look at the half dozen teams with current FBI investigations going on to try and understand why UK has quit getting top 5 talent last few years

Talent? Freshman talent doesn't always compare with scheme and experience, but that is too complicated for some of you to understand.

Because they can jump high (Diallo), athletic, long reach, and have 5 stars by their name. But when a coach chooses to have a roster turnover each year, this is type of players he has to recruit. Can't be bothered to develop a roster over 3/4 years. Got to get them to the NBA as soon as possible.
