I heard this from a former player. Take FWIW. Not that it is too difficult to figure out now, but different from what everyone thought a month ago. Montgomery, Brooks, Allen, Juzang back at UK next year. Hagans, Maxey, Richards get drafted bottom half of 1st round. Quickley goes in 2nd round. Calipari signs a big or 2 in the spring. Or could take a summer transfer.

Well said. Yea, his defense isn't the greatest, but his experience is invaluable and he's a smart player. He is a true stretch 4 that will put other teams in bad situations. He's an important piece for us to get to where we want to go.

Hagans, Maxey and Nick gone.

Would love for IQ to come back.

Hopefully no more transfers.

Cal has been pretty good about who he picks up as grad transfers. I will trust he will keep doing this for the foreseeable future.

There is zero chance Hagans , Maxey , Richards or Quick come back as all will be drafted and only quick maybe won't be a 1st rounder but he has a chance . There really is only 1player who we don't know - EJ . I suspect he will leave anyway but I hope Richards success will spurn him to return for a 3rd year . But we have 3 bigs already coming in ( as Fletcher is just as much of a 4 in college) and will add 2 more still so EJ is going to do what he is going to do. Brooks might test the waters but be smart enough to come back. Never hurts to do that and I think you always should.

I do love the way Cal builds teams now were he signs 2-3 one and done types but also signs 2-3 2 year types . As you must have experience . You don't need seniors but you need experience.

Montgomery isn't coming back. Hell, he barely came back for this year.
I was told Montgomery will come back 1 more time because it will be the difference between getting drafted or not getting drafted. He has a good relationship with the coaches. Has improved a lot defensively. Just needs to keep working on his offensive game. Not there yet.

Needs to work on his aggressive play. Too PASSIVE. Can be a better shot blocker and rebounder

As hard as I’ve been on EJ...him returning would be huge considering any other center we sign will be a first-year player. You would pair him with the best incoming player (Jackson/Ware/player TBD) or possibly play Brooks at the 4.

Guess we’re rolling with one true point guard and will rely on Boston or Clarke to run the show when Askew is sitting on the bench.

Maybe he sees what a third year has done for Richards.

Quickley ain’t a second round pick in mocks -Maxey may drop to a 2 and be replaced by Pritchard - Tre Jones or Markus Howard
I believe EJ leaves regardless - May go play for Ga Tech as a grad transfer

Really hoping IQ comes back and Cal sells him on being the lead guard and it being his team.

it’s the only way for him to get in the first round and improve stock. Have a year similar to this year but up the assist number and show you can play the 1 and create/run the offense.

IQ returning would be huge. Many believe Askew is a 2-3 year guy so letting him be the first guard off the bench would ease his transition and maximize his efficiency as well

The lead ESPN draft analysis has Maxey #6 overall. He ain’t falling out of the first round.

And unless EJ came to UK with 50+ college credits....he ain’t graduating this year.

Quickly will be back, he isn't on any mocks nor will he be. He most likely isn't an NBA player. Would love to see EJ come back but I dont see it unless Cal works a miracle!

If you are looking at mocks to find where our guys are going it is fools errand especially with guys like Quickley and Richards who just came on this season. You will start to see them where they belong basically after the season is over as most of the mock sites just move around the guys they already had on their mocks until after the season.

And EJ is not leaving unless he goes pro . He can't be a grad transfer as zero way he graduates after 2 years . LOL

[eyeroll] Again you don't understand how mocks work if you are using that as your tool to decide if he is leaving. They take months to catch up with how a newly great player is playing . He is gone as he has shown how good he can be and the NBA ha a place for guys like that EVEN if he wasn't drafted ( which he will be ) .

He's just not quick enough and too small to play in the league imo. Love the guy but he's a developmental late 2nd round pick at best. Hope he proves me wrong

Maxey, Hagans, Richards and IQ are gone. IQ has worked his *** off and deserves the payday. EJ? Not sure. UK will have an outstanding team next whether he stays or leaves.

So, you believe that EJ can graduate in just the two years in Lexington? Please be right, I want to show my kids it can be done.

I love Quick but I don't see him going to NBA without showing more at the point . He is an amazing college two guard . How many average athletic two guards are 6'3" in the NBA ? There are some But not many .
My point exactly

Of course Cal has. I'd be glad with a GT. Consider the source of your quotes
