I'd say drive home safe, but we're talking about hundreds of thoroughly hammered college kids, so no need to hope for the impossible. Hopefully the many accidents are minor and no fatalities. Good work, Texas Tech!

  • We would have been better off if Maxey had been given a phantom 5th foul and sat on the bench down the stretch and in overtime. If you are going to take hero shots early in the clock late in the game, you better make them.
  • I never would have dreamed after his first 2 years here that Nick Richards would be the dominating player he is this year. From d*ckfinger looking lost to raging monster.

*One of the drawn charges by TT was arguably correct. The rest were horseshit flops or just completely blown.

*Not an over and back.

It’s about a 33% rate on the charge call. Been a similar rate for 25 years. These refs just love putting their hands behind their heads.

It makes me irate. So much talk about free movement and whatnot but they handicap offense by calling this **** all the time. Lowered shoulder- fine. Offensive push-offs and chicken wings- probably not called enough. But Coach K making falling down a defensive strategy has cost the game every bit as much as Dean’s 4 corners. Makes me sickz

I mean if I was in a giant arena full of people, and I could either blow my whistle and chop my hips and make everyone quiet and disappointed, or I could blow it and put my hand behind my head, take three giant steps the other direction, karate punch the air, and make everyone lose their absolute ****, I'd be biased too.

We need to change it so that the required signal for a charge is to sit down, spread your legs, and pretend you're fingering your ******* to completion. If you think it's really a charge, prove it. Show us it's a charge. The crowd will still pop, but by god you need to earn it.

What a gutty victory. We were collapsing, getting the rape whistle, and Nick Freaking Richards carried us from the brink of despair again. That dude is becoming something great. If we do anything in the post season, he’s going to be a legend.

Our defending has been less than stellar the last few games, but I feel we are right on the brink of taking a big step forward. We know our rotation, we know the stars. It’s all up to Maxey to figure it out. When he does, we’ll be very good.

Orrrrr, and I’m just spit-balling here, but let’s just get rid of secondary defender charges. If you beat your primary defender of the bounce, let’s make the secondary defender actually *defend,* and not reward him for standing flat-footed.

Question for you younger wiser folks

Did they do away with arc under goal were it’s not a charge call on contact???
I saw a couple charges called inside that area in UK’s game and other games today

I don’t understand how Hagans goes from one of the best guards in America to a 7th grade B-Team spaz who fires missiles into the bottom of the backboard on drives.

I don’t understand how Brooks - a top 30 recruit - can’t catch a wide open pass on a fast break.

And I really don’t understand how Nick Richards can become Robert Parish with a vertical leap over the span of 4 weeks.

I love that last one by the way.

Our flaws show exponentially when Cal slows us down. It’s inevitable when you know your coach wants to slow it up to pass on opportunities that you never would in the flow of a game.

There is simply no reason to play that way, especially when you are clearly the better team and the only way to lose is beating yourself.

I am so fired up right now. Could Nick Richards become an all-time favorite Wildcat???? ... developing ...

Getting there. I had absolute confidence that Big Man was going to hit free throws when it counted against a very good team in a zoo road show. That's some rare air.

To see where he started to where he is now is amazing.

Like the Piglet stuff with Stoops, I hope we can just start appreciating that we are watching a mature Nick Richards go out night after night and kick *** without constantly talking about how much he sucked the last two years. I remember as a freshman that I openly hoped Cal would bench him for f***ing Brad and I was being only slightly sarcastic at the time. But those days are gone and Nick is a legitimately great player right now. So I'm going to just appreciate watching the guy,

He's got a shot on getting on my favorite Wildcat list, depending on how March and (hopefully) April go. The kid has weathered a bad beginning with absolute class and never once bitched or complained or threatened to transfer.

If he ends up being the SEC player of the year, that will be amazing.

* IMMANUEL QUICKLEY! He makes me feel like this.

Where did this come from? I both hope he can make the first round after this year based on him upping his game and want him to come back to lead this team next year.

To manage to play well enough that everyone overlooks what is truly one of the worst haircuts of all time is saying something.

* That win is going to help our NCAA seed big time.

* Montgomery and Sestina basically split minutes at the 4 last night. That's probably about right. Both bring some things to the table and have huge liabilities. I think Sestina's assets are far higher than what little Montgomery does bring to the table and I would like to see Calipari start tailoring our offense to make Sestina a much more valuable contributor but Cal is going to go with Montgomery for "defense" so it is what it is.

Kind of surprised to see Brooks melt under the pressure. With Whitney leaving, it is his time to shine and take the 4 spot hostage for the rest of this year and next.

* Awesome, awesome, awesome win against a good team. This bodes well for March.

I'm Huber Giddy this morning.

Holy **** am I hungover. Guess it's time to have a drink to take the edge off this awful feeling.

What a game. That environment was as rowdy and salty as UK will see. Just goes to show that if UK is fully engaged, they are as good as anyone in the country. Can't believe I'm even typing that.

Nick Richards......right? What a beast he's turned into.

I guess UK doesn't lose to any opponent that throws up anything resembling a L.

Great night. Dinner and regulation with the family at 502. OT at home with a couple beers and celebration. Text from "Woke Kyle Tucker" to co.e out and continue the celebration which I happily accepted.

Blind Squirrel for a couple beers. Then some hole in the wall bar that had fantastic pizza.

Seeing Richards blossom has been really cool. You would think that his example would be evident to guys like Whitney. Apparently his dad is the one that dictated him leaving early. We sit behind the family section in Sec 22 and he is ALWAYS vocal about what is and is not happening. Think he would have had the same progression as Richards if not quicker.

If everything about this year was exactly the same, except Richards was a freshman, he’d be in everyone’s projected top 5 draft picks. He won’t go that high, but he sure as hell deserves some lottery love and is definitely a first rounder if the GMs don’t have their head’s up their asses.

If he can improve this much, this quickly, the sky is the limit for a guy with his pure athletic ability.

I don’t think I’ve ever been prouder, or more surprised, with a guy’s turnaround.
