They did! But Cal left them in, even after 3 shot clock screw ups. That’s why I always say that loss is totally on Cal for not making the right coaching decisions. Hell, he never even called a timeout.
No. I haven’t read most of this, but just wanted to weigh in. The difficulty of even reaching the final four is not widely appreciated on this forum. It’s a crap shoot to win 6 games in a row. Cal represents us in a very professional way and he respects the history of our program. Enjoy it while it lasts.
I don’t want Billy Donovan to turn us down for a third time so I am fine with Cal.
But , needs to let some guys plays through mistakes.
I think it's safe to say that most of the people who are NOT sunshine pumpers do NOT want Cal gone. They want Cal to change his OAD philosophy, a new approach to coaching, fire Barbee, get Coach O back, and get Tyler Ulis as a PG coach. Cal needs to take some kind of walkabout to get his mind together.
The reason why Cal is not doing well, is simply, he's burnt out on his own OAD philosophy. He has to change. We all want Cal here. We just want him to coach like he did his first 6 years.

OAD is going away one way or another, not sure why cry about it now. Meaningless point. Cal's main struggle comes from cheating, nothing else. People who can't see that are people who focus on their own narrative, meaning they should look themselves in the mirror first.
Tyler Ulis as a PG coach? How do you even know this will work? Was Coack K, Cal, Izzo, Self, Wright, and etc....were they great basketball players? Erik Spolestra is great basketball player? There is this notion that great basketball player = great coach...it's a completely different role.
Cal has changed a lot every year to try to incorporate the best strategy...but at the end of the day...once cheating becomes so disruptive, it becomes a moot point.

You do realize that when Cal got ejected from the South Carolina game, we won because Tyler Ulis lead the team to victory and called plays. I think Tyler Ulis would make a fantastic assistant coach one day. You obviously need to watch more basketball.
I can tell you're a UofL fan, because you haven't watched UK basketball this year at all. He's playing positionless basketball to incorporate an NBA playstyle with players who are not NBA ready players right now. He barely runs sets and doesn't adapt. Platooning is adapting.

I gave you examples, factual evidence that players don't always make good coaches. In fact the top coaches in both NBA/College are made from mediocre at best player. You just want a coach gone because for some reason you developed insecurity towards Tony Barbee.
Also, Barbee would fit the mold of successful player...but...you want him gone anyways. (we have no idea of what he does for this program, anyways)
Anyways, try using logic. Actual evidence...not guess work. Don't sound idiotic saying "run offense" when you can't even tell that we do run offense.

Cal has made plenty of coaching mistakes. PLENTY. But so has Coach K, Wright, Pitino, Izzo, Roy, Barnes etc. I’m still pissed they lost to freaking Evansville and those two games in Vegas. But that doesn’t mean I don’t think Cal is the right coach for this program. He clearly is.

I about got banned for good after 19 years on the board because I had a clear opinion of discontent for coach cal. In the past I thought he was the best option but now I’m ready for a change. With his recruiting, he should have at lest two more championships in his resume. It’s rinse and repeat, and I would like to see a change.
The point is that your complaining about Cal is being seen even on other boards and they can even see how crazy you are. Even IU fans know how lucky we are to have Cal as coach. You are so fixated on Cal that you can't see the Forrest for the trees.
