For those of you with basketball coaching skills, what is Cal's offensive game plan?

It seems to be based on offensive rebounds because he plays 2 post guys and doesn't let his center shoot perimeter shots even when they can make them. The spacing is awful, driving lanes are awful, the screening and setting picks is non existent. His game plan seems to be to out athlete your opponent and get the offensive rebound when we miss.

For those of you with basketball coaching skills, what is Cal's offensive game plan?

Cal yells RUN CIRCLE! Team runs a 3 pass weave on the perimeter, guard holds ball at top of the key, a big runs up and sets a pick, guard may or may not use the pick on a drive & either throws up a one handed running shot or kicks for a contested heaved 3. Offense needs a rework.

I love Cal, but have to admit the offense looks stagnant. Typically only one player cuts three others see screens. It works to get that cutting player the ball, but he normally catches it running full speed away from the basket which is in no position to score. I wish Cal would go back to his UMass/Memphis dribble drive. I think having Hagans, Maxey, and Quickley relentlessly drive and kick out if it’s not there could have some success. Richards and EJ be available for lobs or put backs.

For those of you with basketball coaching skills, what is Cal's offensive game plan?

There isn’t one. That’s the thing. No spacing at all, no ball movement, no one is working off the ball to get open. Very very few open looks for shooters. The pick and pop was working with Sestina but we went away from that once the defenders learned to stay home with him and cal never tried to go back to it down the stretch. It’s so frustrating to watch.
