Man I wish Calipari had his basketball team ranked outside of the top 25 his entire tenure, at or near .500, lost almost every single rivalry game especially in conference, and had the 7th best recruiting class in the SEC, that huge *****

Because both teams are playing with the same deck of cards, and the same expectations, great take.

Right or wrong expectations for the basketball team are infinitely higher than the football team's. Pretty sure this is common knowledge.

This guy helped murk us. Good grief. If that isn’t enough to define the current state of Cal I don’t know what to say.

You know something else I liked about Stoops yesterday? He called into KSR to talk about the class even though he was having the press conference about it later that day. Because he is excited about it and wants Billy Joe Wildcat to share in the success. He's still learning but the guy really gets it.
I can't see Cal doing that kind of stuff anymore, maybe I'm wrong but this ain't 2009 Cal like many have brought up or hungry UMass Cal trying to sell his program, or lean Memphis Cal fighting for a seat at the blueblood's table but a bloated, self-satisfied Cal.

Maybe this isn't the place for you.

Take some time and lurk for a bit. Maybe try again around Derby.

Stoops is 43-44 and 20-36 in the SEC. Hes doing great, so has Cal. Feel free to stop being hypersensitive about it.

Cal also coaches the GD premiere program in college basketball. You have to royally screw up to lose at UK. I mean even your dumbass could probably coach UK and land a top 25 basketball recruiting class. Stoops took over a team that was murked by 40 by Vandy and every bit of about 400 people witnessed it. So Cal / UK basketball = Stoops / UK football is Davis = Henson dumb. Where you the one who said Davis = Henson to ???? I am terrible, but HTF have you not been ran for so long ?

[eyeroll] Fine, feel free to post non stop whining and bitching about the basketball program for the next 3 months - it’s awesome to read every GD year. Good stuff. Hopefully turnip and catsfan can add some more solid info

- I appreciate where Ron Mexico is coming from. GD- do we all have to feel the same way about everything? What is this- Russia?

- Have always found Griswold-era Beverly D’Angelo very attractive.

- I remember watching Christmas Vacation in class in grade school at a Catholic school. Probably 7th or 8th grade. Can you imagine that this day and age?

I mean. I feel like winning 10 games in football especially at UK is equal to a Final Four.

Calipari is the Commonwealth's most overpaid employee and that's saying something.

Winning 7 games with an actual quarterback for only 2.5 games this season is more impressive to me than winning 10 games.

This season was something else.

Stoops & Co. built a stalwart defense and somehow cobbled together an offense Nebraska would be proud of with a WR at QB. Amazing.

People also forget that our defensive backfield should have been *TERRIBLE* and was arguably our best unit.

Hail Piglet!

I'm guessing every coach of your myriad of teams is over paid chumps. Just a stab in the dark.

When we beat OSU Saturday are the irrational posters just going to pull a 180 like they did once Lynn Bowden started winning football games?

Ehh, there are really only two things that matter:

1. National Championships (in which we still have ground to make up).

2. All-time Wins (which we need to maintain and extend).

The rest is sausage-making drama reserved for bald, shirtless, screaming fat guys;, creeps who get sweaty and roll around on a mat while fondling other dudes; and "UK fans" who are dumb enough to listen to them.

I disagree. The ecstatic joy I experienced from big tournament wins has to count for something. To totally dismiss stuff like Ohio State and UNC 2011, the entirety of our 2014 run, 2017 against Wichita and UCLA, etc. is absurd.
