when they showed the shots of the arena huge chunks of it were empty and the corner sections on both sides flat out didn't have anyone in them. Not to mention the upper level was completely curtained off. T-Mobile holds 20k and the reported attendance was 5k so there was probably 3500-4k there max. Tell me again why we play these games but can't play home and home with good teams. Surely to god a 4 game series 2 games at Rupp vs a good school and 2 games away would generate more money for the University than 1 game at Rupp vs Utah and 1 in Vegas with 14 people there.

This is another apparent case of an overly bleak thread, it seems. All is lost.

I have heard so many excuses tonight and none makes sense except for the fans that know we shot 2/18 from 3 for 11% and UTAH hits 8/15 from 3 for 53% for a 24-6 advantage from 3. We have to start hitting the 3 point shot because this year after 10 games we are lucky to hit 2 or 3 threes a game. It is terrible right now the looks we had from 3 and couldn't hit a three. The threes were hit by Whitney and hagans the 2 shooters that are not that great from 3 point. I don' t know and I am just speechless how we get beat by Evansville at home and now this in Vegas vs. UTAH. WE should easily be 10-0 and still #1 in the Country! No excuses!

We had planned on going until we saw what the cost was going to be (airfare/hotel/tickets)...then we said forget it. I'm glad we did.

They haven't looked very good except for one game imo.

Yet it was still louder than Rupp. All I noticed was Rex Chapman acting like an idiot every time the whistle blew. Kentucky basketball is broken, from the fans to the uniforms to the arena/crowd to the players to the coach. Thanks John.

I was there and there probably was 5K people in attendance. All but 150 were UK fans, but I think it was a mistake to play this game outside of Rupp. First, if we play this game in Rupp, we win, easily. Second, this would have been a quality opponent for season ticket holders, which is a dying breed for non-conference games. However, I think Cal was probably thinking that we could beat Utah, and the team could get expereince in the arena, before playing OSU.

I think it's funny how Rex started playing the true blue UK role in recent years.

For decades the guy basically disowned us and acted like wanted nothing to do with us or the state. He badmouthed us to the press, made racism accusations against the school and our fans, never came back, etc.

But then after his life completely fell apart, got fired from his job, in legal trouble, and had nowhere to turn after burning all his bridges in the NBA world, he decides "...hey, I think I'll be a UK guy again!"

i'm here. It's a great venue. It will be a much larger crowd on saturday. This is Utah's half of the home and home (i.e. UK brilliantly would not go to Salt lake city and instead gets itself a de facto neutral home game a few days before we were playing in the same building in our rotating season tourney against OSU). Also, the atmosphere was very good last night. UK fans were loud as hell during our comeback.

Some people just want to *****.

It was a Wed night game in Vegas a week before Xmas. I thought the crowd was pretty good. Cheered their asses off when we gave them reason too.
