have been the clear leaders these last five games. both basically averaging a double double. they’re the two players that i was hoping would be steady and efficient for us this year. ej and quickley were safer picks because one finished last season strong and the other was in cal’s spotlight to replace pj. they’re stepping up big time. i’m very proud of them for embracing their roles on this team and i can’t wait to see how they continue to flourish these next few months.

Truly astonishingly good performance. For most part we haven blown all the recent teams like all great team can do.
I noticed that. Cal makes these guys keep pushing. Cal would have been ecstatic had Richards had several games like this the last 2 years. He knows the sledding gets a lot tougher from here on out.
As he should, he has the talent to be a monster big. Moves well and has great touch. He will continue to get better as he’s young playing the game.
And I love it. I would have been happy if Nick stopped dropping passes thrown to him. I didn’t even know consecutive double doubles was a possibility. But kids go play for UK to be challenged. And Cal apparently knows that Nick can be really special if he can put it together. We’re starting to see it now too.

If the Cats don’t make a run this year, it won’t be because of the returning guys. It’s Cal’s best group of returning players he’s had at UK in terms of quality/quantity.
The question will be whether this frosh class can produce a couple “real guys.” Jury is very much still out on this group’s ceiling (at least for this year).

Um, what? I assume you meant haven't blown out teams. If so, that's a curious take after a 31 pt win, and an average margin of victory of 22 over the last 4 games.
I would like to add EJ to the list as he has gone 16 and 8 and 25 and 9 our last two games.

So far this year, Richards has proved me totally wrong, I thought he had learned the game too late to be any kind of player and he's kind of a player now. Go Richards.
