Montgomery and Richards most likely will both spend time on him. It’s going to be a tough matchup for us.

Sutton will get a lot as well.

Our guards will have to offset them because we are better at that position.

But we sure as hell have to shoot it better than we have been. You know they will light it up from 3. Someone always does against us at Rupp.

Quickley would be giving up around 5 inches. Nwora would be able to shoot over him at will

And?

You get up on him, make him uncomfortable. Make him put the ball on the floor. He either gives the ball up or pulls up for 2 pointers. He shouldn’t be able to drive around a quicker guard.

Not too concerned with him slashing to the rim even though he’s good at drawing fouls in that regard. He has a good pull up game.

I respect him and realize they may be a challenge but I like our chances. Michigan played well in the Bahamas but they aren’t the #4 team in the country and Louisville isn’t #1. Another silly whiteout and bogus banner celebration had them jacked up. If they beat us so be it but I think we whip their asses again. GBB.

Just think, he was going pro until he injured his ankle while working out for NBA teams. He had to miss some of the workouts because of it. He even said he was probably gonna stay in the draft if the injury didn't happen. UL is lucky as hell he came back. Without him, they're a 10-12 loss team.

Jordan Nwora and a bunch of dudes!

Their guards are butt.
I say start with Richards, EJ, Whitney, Maxey, Ashton....the length will keep them out of the paint and make them work. Please please let Ryan McMahon guard Maxey or Hagans....to the cup at will!

Cal is GREAT at shutting down the opponents favorite weapon. More super stars have had miserable games against UK than career highs. Its the 3 ball we have to watch out for.

And that's where we will feat...Ryan McMahon should be playing at EKU or Belmont. Darius Perry and Fresh Kimble? Do they weigh in???

Hagans and Maxey will be in them all game.

Now the true test will be Enoch/Sutton vs. Richards/Montgomery. Where they will be stronger....we will be longer. And if our guys can step out and hit jumpers....that opens the lane.

Now Whitney/Brooks probably need to use all 10 fouls they have...but just focus on giving Nwora nothing...and if they let him by then let Nick handle him at the rim.

And we are their first big road atmosphere...and they'll be #1....and I love this matchup.

They aren't very athletic. Their guards aren't fast/quick at all. Sutton is undersized. Nwora is an elite scorer...but not an elite athlete. They go on about their depth...but I only see 3 solid options that would get any PT for us. Quality > Quantity.

He’d have an unfair physical advantage on Quickley. They’d post him up against Q. Need someone that can play him physical and push him around. Brooks is perfect. But he’s too foul prone. Gonna have to rotate 2-3 guys on him.

Cal is GREAT at shutting down the opponents favorite weapon.
I love Cal, and he has many many strengths, but this is simply not true, at least early in the season. Cal is notorious for letting one person absolutely go off without making in-game adjustments. He takes more of a 'tip your hat' approach to someone who has a career game.

I'm still trying to understand how a program with all the controversy, NCAA issues, etc. has a great team at the present time?
Sometimes Cheating pay dividends. Just ask UNC. Sometimes it comes back to haunt you. Check Louisville vacating the 2013 title. Louisville still has to pay for the latest round of cheating by paying recruits while on probation with the NCAA.

pump the brakes on great.
They still have a lot of Rick's players

Nwora, Williams, Perry, McMahon, & Sutton all committed under Rick
Enoch and Kimble are transfers.
Williamson and Johnson are the only players Mack has brought in that get burn.

Rick had an eye for talent..I'll give him that as we saw what OTubby Smith did with those guys he had after Rick.

Now they're guaranteed to lose 5 of those guys after this year...possible 2 more depending on Williams & Williamson. If the Scrubb get goes to the draft...then he's bringing in a very average class to replace that production....scholarship restrictions in place and more to come....

They better enjoy Rick's last ride!

PJ guarded him most of the game last year and he shut him down. Brooks and Whitney are the closest we have to a guy like PJ with enough size and quickness to handle the match up

Just need Richards and EJ to stay out of foul trouble. If they can we will be good.

He is a solid player, but he is also a high-volume shooter. He will win games for them this year, no doubt, but he will also shoot them out of games as well.

Please tell our guards not to foul McMahon. He needs at least 10 feet to get his jumper off, or he is begging for a call.

I know that Michigan really shot poorly, but Louisville’s defense was impressive.

He's a good shooter but not much athleticism. Whitney will be all over him and Nwora will struggle. Our guards will pick his pocket more than once I'd say.

He can't create his own shot either. They will have to run plays for him but if we play defense like we should, he will have a long night in Rupp.

Their defense has been good but their offense hasn’t been the greatest.

Someones always going to go off, the guys aren't all going to score evenly. But the opponents star player seems to have terrible games vs UK. Wasn't it Wofford that almost beat UK last year in the tourney and they had the best 3 point shooter in all of college and the kid goes 0-15 or something. Thats common.

Cal, has his strengths we'll have to agree to disagree that this one. Kaminsky, Dekker, Kemba Walker, Shabazz Napier, Bryce Brown, Jared Harper, Justin Jackson, Thomas Bryant, Yogi Ferrell, on and on. We have been beaten when it counts the most by the other teams best players time and again. Do other teams best players play bad against us too as well sometimes? Sure, but that's not by design. Cal does not change his philosophy to try and shut down the other team's best player. Cal is certainly not a Belicheck make the other team play opposite handed guy.

Whitney. Ask him to do nothing but keep Nwora from getting the ball. Make Nwora run around everywhere to get open and his legs won't be as good late. He will likely get his, but you focus on the rest of the bunch and don't let anyone go off.

Should be a good game. I worry more about them defensively with us in the half court. In still think we will win by 10+.

That's end of year Cats vs beginning of the year Cats. I think the two can co-exist.
