Anybody know why my pics are not showing? They come up in preview, but when I hit post, it just shows a an X over where the pic would be.

Bilas was saying after the loss that Stephen Austin was a very good team or something close to that. That means they might drop to the fourth spot in the polls.

i think duke will still be one of the best teams by the end of the year but they’re not getting a #1 seed and no one will be afraid of them. they’ll have to earn it and that’s not their comfort zone. lol

We beat #1 a week before our bad loss and dropped 8 spots. We will see if there is no bias when the new rankings come out after Dook had the worse upset in the last 15 years. If they don't drop at least 8 spots then it's pretty clear. If what I think happens and they only drop about 4 to 5 spots it really shows you the double standard. I hope I'm wrong and they finally get treated like everyone else, but I won't hold my breath.

SFA is 5-1
Lost to a decent Big 10 Rutgers by 12

Like I said, +27 looked like one of the best 7 bets tonight.
I'm 4-2 waiting on Kansas.
Decent Rutgers team? LOL They lost to then 1-3 St. Bonaventure and only beat then 0-2 Bryant Bulldogs by 2. SHF will probably get beat by Lamar.

Just like the Evansville game, I'm not reading too much into this...but yeah, from a point spread perspective this clears BCG of the worse loss in past 15 years

Again, basketball is a weird game....

Largest Upsets By Division I Team Over Past 15 Seasons
YEAR TEAM SPREAD OPPONENT
2019 Stephen F. Austin +27.5 at No. 1 Duke
2007 Gardner Webb +26 at No. 20 Kentucky
2015 Western Illinois +25.5 at No. 17 Wisconsin
2019 Evansville +25 at No. 1 Kentucky
2017 Wofford +25 at No. 5 North Carolina

i think they’ll be ranked about 7th. you’d still be right though. the ap is just biased.

Coach K can't win without the number one recruiting class. Great recruiter. Average coach.

Actually, he's lost even with the No 1 recruiting class the past two years and on a few other occasions as well if my memory serves. One more loss to a school like SFA and Coach K's back problems will flare up and he'll be sidelined for the rest of the season. Without the rogue recruiting that's been going on since 2015, I think Cal would have won at least one or two more NCAA titles. We'll never know for certain, but that's my gut feeling. IMO, he handles bringing talented freshmen along better than any other coach.

Ugh, just watched the highlights and the Duke crowd was going absolutely nuts trying to cheer their team on to victory. Rupp sounded like they deserved a win by showing up and was a morgue during the Evansville game.

Even more impressive SFA!

Looking at the stats, the loss doesn't make any sense. SFA had 20 more shot attempts than Duke yet Duke outrebounded SFA by 6 rebounds. How did SFA get that many more shot attempts if they were not rebounding the ball more than Duke? Duke did have 7 more turnovers than SFA but that still doesn't account for the huge discrepancy in shots.

This has been said by many people over the One-and-Done era, teams like Kentucky and Duke, powered by highly-ranked Freshmen and Sophomores are utterly susceptible to losing to a team starting juniors and seniors. This is especially true early in the season, when Freshmen are still truly Freshmen. The upperclassmen on these smaller teams are often have more musculature and thus, stronger and much more experienced. Add to this, the fact that these kids likely haven’t, to this point, really been punched in the face, their combination of relative inexperience coupled with arrogance and hubris, and it’s easy to see how teams like Evansville and Stephen F. Austin win out against the number one team in the country on their own home floor.

Talent is great, and the NBA clearly drafts on potential. But, in the years to come — at least, until the O&D era ends — this will replay itself time and time again. Any team gritty enough to survive that first punch to the face, wipe off the blood, and keep going has a chance. This isn’t an anomaly at this point.
