I think it is a simple reason. With teams full of new players each year who are not familiar with each other I'd say he slows it down because we would have a ton of turnovers if we played faster. Missed cuts, sloppy passing, players not being in the right spot. Cal has to keep the training wheels on as long as possible with basically a new team each year.

The problem with that is he really slows down in the tournament.

This reminds me of certain people when talking about issues concerning our country.

The people that think they are right about EVERYTHING are actually the least tolerant a**holes on the planet. And they have zero ability to have logical discussion when you disagree with their viewpoint.

this is you again not being able to answer a simplistic question. did ashton hagans look like a good basketball player in the auburn loss? was it his his 7 turnovers you liked? his 25% from 3 perhaps? his sec defensive player of the year award winning defense as Auburn's guards torched him for 24 and 26 points perhaps that you loved? And I'm on the who can't have a rational thought for suggesting a guy who had looked like our best perimeter defender in the game before and saved us from losing to Houston in the Sweet 16 play more than 4 minutes and get benched for one stupid foul on a 3 while others are out there making non stop mistakes. Got it

this is the problem with dumb people. they dont know just how dumb they are. and whats worse, think they are smart in the process.

when being critical of hagans in the elite 8, you left off his 4-8 shooting, 1-1 from the line. he was 3rd on the team in scoring that night behind pj and travis. his 25% 3 point shooting was better than hero (1-5) kj (0-2) and quickley (1-6).

was it hagans best game, no. but he was the 3rd best cat that day. the entire team played like crap that night. and basketball is that simple. play well, you win, play bad, you lose. its a make or miss game.

so you see its impossible to answer your "simplistic question" because its grounded in bizarre mishmash of disconnect data points and random thoughts. and that is because you are mad and for some reason directing it at hagans.

Same - ON ON Ashland High we will fight for the right tonight hold that ball and kick it high for every Tomcat Star will shine sound familiar
My little cousin is Blazer's all time leading rusher. I definitely know what the Ashland Tomcat looks like.

Edit: Wish he would've went to UK to play football, like his old man did. Needless to say, he went elsewhere.

kl4....whatever his name is, is an argumentative pos. There, I stooped to his name calling level....and it felt good.
I get tired of his stupid-*** responses to stuff, that don't even make any sense. I've never ignored anyone, but kl4....whatever his name is will be my first. I'd ignore KyBass, but his bully routine is funny

Yeah let’s get all shooters that play no defense and have one good year every five years. No thanks. While we’re at it, let’s claim nobody on this team can shoot just 3 games into a season where we’ve already beaten the team most have picked to win it all.

There's so many "call outs" in this thread, I don't even know where to begin. [laughing]

That's my point CAL needs some good role players who play D and shoot the ball well. I think Baker if he would have stuck around and stayed out of the dog house could really have helped this team this year. Juzang cant play D at least up too CAL's standards and won't get the minutes Baker would. If you remember back to Bakers freshman season when he sat out everyone said he was the best shooter on the team and more then likely would be this season .

Defense...……...I saw no defense against Evansville.....also I saw was a UK player left 20' from the rim watching Evansville attempt a layup or getting a long rebound

I do think Cal has his favorites & Baker probably wasn't one of them, but there is no way he could play worse than Hagans
