As of now, I'm hearing he's playing tomorrow. Plan is to test his pain management during warmups to see to what extent he can play. Cal will rely on Nick to make the decision ultimately.

Need Nick vs Sparty - if he can provide 6 pts, 6 rebs, that's all we need. His presence (which isn't much but still) will also alter some shots. Go cats.

It is a moderate low ankle sprain, according to the talk around town. Similar to Jeff Shepherd’s injury during the 1998 postseason. Not a high ankle. Typically, an injury like this gets a boot and daily treatments until swelling goes down. If he can deal with the pain, he can play. But Nick doesn’t have the greatest footwork even when he is healthy. Early fouls often seem to be a problem for him. I think he will play tomorrow, but we might have to zone when he is in the game.

Actually believe Nick's presence this season is the difference between being a top 5 team and probably the best team . He is the one true old school center we have and their aren't many in college even at his talent level in terms of potential. Now I think we could win tomorrow without him but it would be much harder . Suspect if he plays he will have a game similar to 8 pts 8 rebs 3 blocks .

His value won't come in points. Contesting shots, rebounding, and another 5 fouls is where Nick's value lies.
I’ll take two dunks along with all those things you said, if for anything to juice the team. Hidden value.

No real news here, he's listed day to day and trying to practice. Nobody will know what happens til tomorrow when he either can go or can't.
If the sprain is significant, he won't play. It took me two weeks on crutches to get past the worst sprain you can imagine.
