- Thankful for the break this weekend. Have been in Lex and up until at least 1am every Saturday since 9/28. What a month, though.
- Took December 19th off a long time ago for reasons other than sports/gamBOL, but might be perfect with that 11pm tip out in Vegas on the 18th.
- Jotting down Joe Burrow for my dynasty fantasy league's 2020 draft (live from Hollywood Casino on Belmont Stakes Day...shew). Huge fan of him being a serviceable NFL QB.
- Did I read a robust $8.5mil return for revenue by Indiana in September with sports books? SCH. I know 40% of it was Chicago folk crossing the border, but still.
- When I picture Wyvern, I get the guitar expert from Pawn Stars. Is that close?
- Scariest trick or treat I ever received was the old lady that was handing out those old Jack Chick religious tracts. Those things would NEVER fly today. I know my aunt loved them and would scare the living **** out of me with them.
- Top Breeders' Cup picks:
1. Bricks and Mortar - should be lock to win the main turf race and then Horse of the Year
2. Midnight Bisou - 7/7 this year and can't sway from her now in the Distaff
3. Vino Rosso - Already won a grade 1 at this length at Santa Anita and think he can upset McKenzie (who has never won at the Classic's distance)
4. Omaha Beach - The former Derby favorite returned earlier this month with a win at this track. The field is stacked (Improbable and Mr. Money included), but Money Mike and trainer Richard Mandella have had their eyes set on this race
5. Dennis' Moment - Looks to be the real deal and I'm going to put $$ on his Derby futures when they come out (can we get 6/1 or higher?) His win in July at Ellis Park was eye-openly-crazy
Price horses/longshots:
1. Pure Sensation (Turf Sprint) - If he can hit the first turn in the lead, that be all we need for 5/1 or better
2. Firenze Fire (Sprint) - Should sit back and wait for Mitole and others to set the pace until he prances. At 12/1, should be there at the end to at least figure into the exotics
3. War of Will (Classic) - This year's Triple Crown races have been all over the place. Why not get War of Will at 20/1 in your exotics, too
- Should be feeling loose and conversational on Nov. 9 in the Orange Lot (ugh, orange) by at least 3:00pm, gang. Should be an all-timer.
