The fall signing window

All of us can guess which players will sign in the class. One person’s guess could turn out to be as good as another.

Because they have already announced their plans, I know Clarke, Boston, Fletcher, and Ware will be in the class. I won’t offer a guess whether Askew prefers 2020 or 21 because I cannot see a clear clue yet.

Sestina will be gone after this year.

It seems obvious that Maxey and Hagans will be gone. Whitney, Brooks, Quickley, Montgomery, and Richards might or might not be gone. Everyone has an opinion about it, but nobody knows. Allen will be back. That means the final version of Cal’s class, including grad transfers, will have at least 7 new players in it. Maybe more. We also know some more of them besides Ware will have to be big bodies.

So we should have seven in the fold by the end of November counting Askew as I strongly suspect he will reclassify this Spring if we need him. That’s a pretty strong seven. Hopefully Cunningham will help us land Brown in the Spring. Those eight and a returning Allen, one more scholarship returnee (Juzang?), and the three walk-ons (Jordan, Canada, Welch) give us our roster for 20-21.

G Cunningham/Askew
G Clarke/Allen/Welch
G Boston/Juzang/Canada
F Brown/Fletcher
F Jackson/Ware/Jordan

And I still don’t buy that Banchero will stay in the ‘21 class. I think he is the secret commit that Boston was talking about and will be here next year.

This is just my guess, I have no inside info.

Strong guess but you are assuming the whole roster is gone from this year with exception of Juzang and Allen....I just don't see that happening, but who knows?

I’m not wild about the idea of Cade committing but not signing until spring. Not sure Cal would be wild about it either. Keeps us in the “hat on the table” category for the winter.

Cal has encouraged players not to sign with us before. He did it with Brandon Knight.

If Cunningham commits now, he's not switching to Oklahoma State. He could just commit to them now and not sign if he wanted to.

That would be more likely to keep the current staff employed and every school in the country would have a spot for him anytime he wanted to switch.

A lot of people talk about the coaching staff at OSU being on the hot seat, but I think Shaka is on as hot of a seat. I mean is Brown a highly enough ranked recruit to save his job? Usually, that is for players 1-3 type talent. Brown's dad seems to love UK and I think maybe they are wanting to wait until spring to see how Shaka does. If Shaka turns in another stinker this year that could be it for him at TX. We really need Brown and I think we are right there with TX. Hard to believe with all the talented bigs Shaka has had and no success at TX that he is still in the mix. Hopefully, TX starts badly and turns in a stinker. It would be similar to Brooks who seemed to be between us and IU until he watched them implode and their fans turn on Archie.

Gonzo shut up you’re the worst poster on here and have been for years bro. Bye!

Two questions:
1. Did you ever get your golden egg?

2. How did you survive the furnace?
