As a fellow Cat lover, I pray the best for you. Had a knee replacement this year in March that went terribly wrong; my family had a serious scare. I am not sure who said these were the "golden years" but they haven't lived them.
Put your trust in the Lord; I know people say this all the time, but from someone who did not and now does, I am living proof he is there for us.

Had my knee replacement; all seemed to go as planned. Sent me home the next morning. As they were putting me into my wife's car, I told the nurse I was feeling very sick. Before I got half way out of the parking lot, I was throwing up like crazy. Six hours later, I was passed out on my bathroom floor vomiting black stuff that my wife said was "evil" smelling.
EMS came, I was in and out of it. MY blood pressure was dropping like a rock and it was all the EMS techs could do I was told later was to get me back to the hospital.
It took them several hours, almost 24 to be exact to figure out I was having a severe reaction to one of the medicines they gave me to put me under along with finding out I was allergic to pain medicine. A double whammy of hell.
It took the doctors almost 5 days to get my blood pressure to a point they could take me off some of the things they had me hooked up to.
Through all this, a major blunder on someones part, all of us I guess. With everyone 100% focused on my blood pressure so low in dangerous levels, no on put ice on me for a few days. If anyone knows about knee replacements, ice is critical. I can say this now without getting that sick feeling in my stomach the first time I saw this, but my right leg swelled up so much, my plumbing was upside down.
You can only imagine going to the bathroom for the first time in days that you can remember anything and see you **** upside down.
My swelling was so bad it just pushed everything that way.
Been a fight of my life to get back to today.
For the first time in my life that I can remember, I missed the Cats in the tourney last year. My son in law taped it for me to watch when I got home, but by then I was in no mood for anything.
Went thru rehab on this leg with no pain medicine. Took several weeks to get completely over throwing up and getting sick to my stomach.
Lost all kinds of weight.
But to be honest Frank, it took me facing something like this to put my trust in God. At this point that is all I had left.
I feel very sorry for this lady's family along with her. The toll it took on my family was hard.
The funny part of all this was my therapist. A super guy. Thing was, he went to UL. I would wear my UK gear and knowing I was not on any pain meds, he would lean over when they were working on getting my knee to bend and whisper in my ear, "find that happy place, Go Cards" and bend my knee.
Pure hell from all angles.

We started a small business that took off. The last two years I was working 60-90 hour weeks. We have it figured out now. So I have read a few some things the past few months. Funny they tagged me today. We just finished raising over $100,000 in less than three months for St. Jude with our customers. Go Big Blue!
First, we would need to get some details and specifics. From her post, it says she isn’t eligible. If she was she would need the $20,000. That’s how I read it.

So sorry to hear about your experience, Oldbluefart. I just had my second knee replacement in September and it was a great experience for me. All went well and I'm just about done with my rehab and am feeling terrific. I guess you just reacted to some meds that really sounded horrible and made me cringe as I read your account. I certainly hope you are doing much better now and on the way to full recovery or maybe there by now. In the past, I have had reactions to anesthesia that would make me violently ill for a time but nothing like what you had to experience. Prayers to you and Cindog, this is a great group of people on this board when it comes to wanting to help others and I'm proud to be a part of it. Hang in there, Oldbluefart, I'm sure much better days are ahead for you.

Finally getting things together. Had my knee drained of 75cc's of some Mountain Dew looking stuff. I can bend my knee, actually put on my socks again but the pain is so bad. Not sure I understand everything that was explained to me, but it has something to do with them removing my ACL leaving me with 3 ligaments instead of 4 around the knee. The fluid I was told built up as a natural protection by my body to protect the knee.
My body has to adjust to the wobbly knee and when it does, things are supposed to be like a normal knee replacement from that point on. Doctor said it will take a full year to 100%.
It did start with the anesthesia and went down hill fast with the pain meds. For the life of me, I cannot understand people wanting to take that crap for a high.

You not only look out for your fellow fans---but even your rival fans as well. I posted about the loss of our daughter in law. The responses were amazing. I've even some reach out, and ask if there was a GoFundme set up. I was taken aback by that. There isn't one...Nor the need for one. But the thought was very touching.
