Still Can't Believe Coach Cal Told Jared Allen To Wait For Marques Bolden

I am sitting watching the Lakers v/s Nets preseason game in China. Jarrett Allen badly wanted to be a part of the 2016 class for Kentucky. When you look at everything, that decision by Coach Cal may have very well cost Kentucky a national championship because Jarrett Allen was the missing piece for that team which had Monk, Fox, and Adebayo. Allen had a great basketball IQ along with his defensive prowess.

Sometimes putting together a championship roster and chemistry of a team, a lot of luck is involved. Just my opinion, Jarrett Allen would have fit perfect for that time because Adebayo would have played the 4 and Allen at the 5. Oh well would of could of should of.....

I do believe Coach Cal has learned from his mistakes of the past waiting on recruits then being left at the alter and scrambling at the last minute to fill a complete roster. If Cal would have taken the approach that he is taking now with recruits by not waiting then Allen would have been a Wildcat.

I'm not arguing that you're wrong. Rivals and 247 both had Bolden ranked higher. ESPN had Allen higher by 1 spot.

Allen has clearly ended up better at this point.

Ouch. According to that article, UK was "focused more on adding Bolden OR SAVING THE SCHOLARSHIP FOR NEXT YEAR."

If true, that recruiting decision went from just being a bad call to really horrible, considering how good Jarrett Allen turned out.
