Kentucky beat the By keyed in Tournament handful years ago. Living in OHIO they had their chest out that they were running the tournament cutting nets down. I tried to tell them we are not a 4 seed. Cal has this team peaking right time of year. We are going to beat y'all in sweet sixteen. Lol they though they were going to double digits us and walk away with that W! I knew when Jorts gave Sulinger that Rawlings chest tatoo we was winning this game.

The most recent one that I attended would be the win over UCHEAT in Vegas, the beat down of UCLA was another.

Being an old guy I have to say spoiling Bobby Knight & IU's perfect season in 1975. 92-90 in Reg. Final for trip to Final 4. Very, very close second is the 98 Duke come back in Reg. Final. & #3 would be the come back against UL in 2004/2005. #4 The 31 pt. come back against LSU & Dale Brown.

Eric Daniels put back against Mississippi state comes to mind as does cousins put back to send it to overtime. I forgot who they were play but when Mohammad made that little layup at the buzzer to win. Someone refresh my memory please.

Take your pick of any Aaron Harrison wins in 2014
Haven't read the entire thread yet, so don't know if anyone answered you or not. The answer you're looking for is @ Vandy.

Never did get into UK Basketball until 2008, but remember watching some games with my dad here and there prior to me getting into sports.

The win over Louisville in 2012 to go to the National Championship was a big one for me. That was a very stressful week since there was the possibility that amazing UK team could've been beaten by Louisville and we wouldn't hear the end of it. Getting to the EOG handshakes was one of the greatest sighs of relief I've ever had in my life lol.

I’ll try to mention a game I haven’t seen (unless I overlooked it by mistake).

2012 Indiana. They knocked UK off earlier that year on a buzzer beating, program making (lol), pop corn box worthy, sent Watford straight to Indiana’s HOF 3 point game winner.

Indiana thought they had a final four team after that. It was the only legit team they’d had in a years. When we met in the tournament, I remember hearing how Zeller would destroy Davis and how they’d already beat us once. They truly thought they had a better team.

And then UK put 102 points on them and sent their asses home on our way to our 8th title. Don’t feel bad for Indiana though, their story ends in back-to-back sweet sixteen rings.

It's hard to pick one, and idk if this is my all time favorite, but recently, I've gone back to watch highlights of the South Carolina game where Cal got ejected only three minutes into the game, and Tyler Ulis took over and the Cats still won with no issue.

Seems to me that the 1996 final four win vs UMASS was huge given they handled us in the regular season.
i for one did not expect uk to lose a revenge game in the tournament with our best team. at that point pitino’s system would never reach the championship otherwise. there was a much deeper script narrating our journey, whereas umass was the team that got lightning in a bottle for that one season. until they had to play us with a chip on the line.

we had that title coming with multiple years of near misses leading up to it. psychologically speaking that championship was ours and the media and everyone pretty much knew it. camby’s best game of his life was that first game. but by the tournament no big guy was going to win the game all by himself because our double teams became trademark good. our depth wore them down and they needed a lot of out of nowhere contributions from their bench to even keep it to single digits down the stretch. they were a great team, but we were dominant, and wanted the title more.

The 1996-97 Mercer Anderson team. Putting a 99-65 beatdown on Indiana in Freedom Hall.

Bobby Knight and the Hoosiers had to take it like the bitches they are.

As Knight once said. If rape is inevitable just enjoy it.

I hope you did you POS

No doubt, but the 1975 game against Indiana was incredible. After that beating Duke in 98. Tubby had timeouts left and didn’t use em. He just ran Duke til they were gassed.

This thread is why I love being a part of BBN. So many good memories that mean so much to each one of us. I'm sure each one of these memories reminds you of a certain time in your life, where you were, what you were doing, etc. It's like hearing an old song that reminds you of a period of time in your life. It's great!

Win against Indiana and Bobby Knights undefeated team in 70’s
This was on my list right behind and very close to the Duke 98 win. As I recall this was the Mid-East Regional finals in 1975 after an early season 24 point loss. Denying the Hoosiers a trip to the Final Four and ultimately possible back to back undefeated seasons.

I loved a lot of them but more recently I’d go with the elite 8 vs. Ohio State in 2011.

In 75, I was 15 years old and had been a fan since I can remember, but that game against Indiana cemented my love for the cats. What a great game it was! I’ve never been happier as a fan.

Recency bias would say UofL in Final 4 2012, 2011 OSU/UNC, the whole run in 2014 (like every touney game)...

But '98 Duke in Elite Eight is a no brainer for me.

It sucks that we lost in the title game against UCONN, but I can only look back at that season and smile because of that tournament run. You're right, EVERY game was phenomenal. Lost at least five years off of my life from that run alone!

I was at this game. Todd Svoboda outscored Alan Houston!
My roommate was a UT fan. He was talking pretty big after the upset in snotsville. When he came in from catting around that night he asked what the score was.

I told him, "you don't want to know." He said, "no really, what is it?" It was late in the second half.

When I told him he didn't believe me.

I told him ut had no business beating UK the week before.

My 1st year watching the Cats was 1970. The game was LSU and Pistol Pete. Pistol Pete had 60 something and Dan Issel, my favorite UK player had 50 something, Cats win on the road spoiling Maravich's last home game

UNC game with Wall. Signified we were back to elite status. Tubby seemed to be a great guy but his lack of recruiting had made us a 10-20 range team. BCG was taking us to Indiana level. We had fallen more than many would admit.

I’ve already “voted” for the 1998 Duke game, but beating undefeated IU in March of my senior year in HS definitely belongs in this thread. I remember reading about how as the bus came down I75 from Dayton with a state police escort, once they entered Kentucky of course, there were people standing on all the overpasses with hand made signs.

UK v Tenn 1993 SEC tourney

An epic whipping by the Cats.

Probably only a handful here will remember this game, but the 57/58 game against a very good Temple team in Memorial Collessium. Vern Hatton hit a 47 ft shot at the buzzer to send the game into ot. The Cats went on to beat the Owls in triple ot.
The IU game in 75 the at the regional finals in Dayton also stands out along with the Duke 98 game as well.

For non-tournament games, that one stands out to me. That was really the mountaintop of the Pitino era, because it was not only an incredibly fun game, but the point at which you realized, after some initial uncertainty, that the 96-97 team was probably the best in the country (again), and that they had a really, really good chance of repeating.

In retrospect, UK has never felt closer to dynastic possibilities than at that time, except Pitino's ego and NBA aspirations always loomed like a storm cloud on the horizon. For years, I felt like that if Pitino had less of an ego and more foresight then, UK could have reeled off 3-4 titles in the next decade. But given the nature of Pitino's character, maybe it's best that he left when he did.
