It's being said the deal is done

Cal was going to the Draft regardless of what KB does today. It's been scheduled so he was leaving at a certain time. Hopefully Cal secured a commitment but you know at the very least he laid out his case, put it on the table, and firmly put it in KB's court. Once that's done, for most negotiations, the next one to speak looses (or, in this case KY wins).

It’s a private jet.. draft isn’t till 7 tomorrow night.. cal can stick around if he had needed to seal the deal and make them more comfortable.

Regardless of the status re: KBlackshear, I will share with you guys how far back this went and why McDaniels stayed home. There are several levels to the whole thing. I will wait for confirmation on KB's college decision.

I'm guessing McDaniels thought EJ was staying in the draft and that the stretch 4 spot was his for the taking?

Tim Coleman, who I don't know, says it is done.

Mitchell Joe, who I don't know, says it is done.

I don't know that it is done. But, I just now got off the highway having been on the road since 8am. So you tell me, is it done?

I mean, that's a whole helluva lot of talent to compete with if you're a cucky freshmen-to-be afraid of your own shadow.

I want to believe this Coleman guy but you know as far as I know he's kind of knew and maybe hasn't paid his dues that he does remind me of Maggard in a way because if you refute what he says then you can just go ahead and leave and not come back. but that being said I think he is probably right and that Cal has left to keep his appointment at the draft and that an official announcement will be forthcoming when I don't know

I am thinking Dave Kersey was told that McDaniles may have been told or found out that if Blackshear did not stay in the draft, he was UK bound. McDaniles seen KB was not in any mock and thought he would back out and go to UK.

Blackshear is a part of the Saga regarding McDaniels but Montgomery was the bigger piece and when it became fairly common knowledge that EJ was not getting favorable information from draft Trust then the McDaniel's father who was guiding the entire recruitment sad you should stay home son.

Would rather have Montgomery than McDaniels. Blackshear makes this team straight up ridiculous on paper.

I'd actually have preferred Jaden to EJ (especially with KB, Nick, and Sestina on board, if in fact KB comes), but it was a nice problem to have and I'm more than grateful for EJ coming back.

Looks like Cal put himself in a win-win situation so massive kudos to him.
