As I've said many times over the years, Cal will retire here and he'll stay long enough to put his name up there with the legends. He is sitting on 709 official wins (I think), that gives him a great chance to finish over 900 wins and a decent chance at reaching 1000. Cal has a huge ego, the closer he gets to those numbers the more determined he'll be to reach them.

If cal hadn’t lost them two 30+ seasons with umass and Memphis and coached 15 more years maybe even 20 you gotta think he’ll have the most all time wins. I guess it really depends on how long rat face will coach. Not sure what cals average per year is but it’s gotta be around 30 or more. So 20 more years will give him 600 and I think that would put him in the 1200’s total. Could be possible.

I think his humble upbringings have more to do with it than anything....definitely more than his ego. He is determined to prove the naysayers wrong.

His ego was put in check after being fired by the Nets. JMHO.

20 years of Coach Cal would be amazing. If he gets 1 more championship, and 3 more final 4s in the next 10 years, he will be the 2nd best coach in Kentucky history, no doubts about it. He would be 2nd in wins, 2nd in championships, 2nd in tenure, 1st in final fours, doing so in half the time the #1 coach was here. If he can pull off 2 championships in the 10 years, I think he passes Rupp.

Nice to see that lifetime contract came through. I’ll happily accept cal till retirement. He enjoys being the coach for the best of the best. Once he gets title two, clod will have to find something else to ***** at

I love the thoughts you both have but 20 years? That would put Cal at about 80 and, based on his previous comments, I doubt he will coach anywhere close to that age. I think we will be very fortunate if he were to coach at UK another 10 years and that might be pushing it. But, I hope you two are right.

Good news. I stated early on Cal would retire here. No need to worry about getting top quality kids and being successful. Now if he can only capture a couple more nattys while he is here, that would be great.

He's already the second best.

Same amount of titles as Pitino, Hall, and Smith.

More FFs than those guys.

Plus Pitino's name is tarnished by going to UofL and then his scandals.

It's Rupp, then Cal, then Hall. No question. Love Joe B. and always will, but Cal has been better.

Pitino, had he not committed such "sins" against the program, would have been third, but now he's barely ahead of Tubby and it might be argued that Tubby is ahead of him just because Tubby turned out to be the better person.

Just wondering, though, who is the bottom guy: BCG or Struttin' Sutton? Might have to settle that one with a drinking contest. I kid, I kid!

uhhhh nope. After 89-90, Pitino *never* lost more than 7 games. Far cry from an NIT appearance or missing the friggin’ tournament.

It’s Rupp, Pitino, then further down the list is Cal/ Joe B. and Tubby.
