Talyn Taylor looks to his mother, Venus, for inspiration. His mother is a college softball coach, and she pushed him early on to reach for his dreams. “I want to win national championships,” Taylor told the Chicago Tribune when describing what he learned from his mother. “I want to win the Heisman. I want to have high goals for myself. To be the best you have to play with the best.” His mother said those goals are all obtainable. “There’s nothing you want more than to see your kid’s dreams come true," Taylor said. "He’s had dreams and goals since he was little that we helped nurture. It was purely his talent that got him recognized. You go shoot your shot. You go to the place you dream of. He knows he has to work and that level won’t be easy, but he’s been dealing with pressure and continuing to take those steps. And that’s what you have to do.” Despite missing some of the 2023 season with an injury, Taylor finished with 512 yards receiving and seven total touchdowns.
