Agreed. With the onset of P2, NIL, revenue sharing, Iowa and other P2 middle-of-the-pack-programs and those that will be added during the next realignment are in a defining moment. Adapt and survive / flourish or stay / become irrelevant and make it all the more difficult to hang around. The later will not only affect Iowa FB, but the other sports as well, along with the overall image and operation of the university itself. This is a little different than the old dude in the office who continues to take up space because he hates his wife, so he's given less and less responsibility so things don't get f'd up. KF is paid an insane amount of money to run a gagillion-dollar business. He's not the owner of Iowa football and not untouchable. The football program should have big goals....goals that obviously are not going to be reached under the current regime. Putting off moving the program forward does nobody any good (except KF).
Birth rates are declining, more hs grads are opting to not go to a 4-yr college or at all, hs football is stagnant or declining in many areas of the country so recruiting will be even tougher. For the University to remain vibrant and growing, we need to follow the advice of Barney Fife:

Either fix the offensive woes and image or the source of it's influence.
