This is a little different than the old dude in the office who continues to take up space because he hates his wife, so he's given less and less responsibility so things don't get f'd up. KF is paid an insane amount of money to run a gagillion-dollar business. He's not the owner of Iowa football and not untouchable. The football program should have big goals....goals that obviously are not going to be reached under the current regime. Putting off moving the program forward does nobody any good (except KF).

Agreed. With the onset of P2, NIL, revenue sharing, Iowa and other P2 middle-of-the-pack-programs and those that will be added during the next realignment are in a defining moment. Adapt and survive / flourish or stay / become irrelevant and make it all the more difficult to hang around. The later will not only affect Iowa FB, but the other sports as well, along with the overall image and operation of the university itself.
Birth rates are declining, more hs grads are opting to not go to a 4-yr college or at all, hs football is stagnant or declining in many areas of the country so recruiting will be even tougher. For the University to remain vibrant and growing, we need to follow the advice of Barney Fife:



Either fix the offensive woes and image or the source of it's influence.

If the hawks go sub .500 this year I think there’s a good chance Kirk is gonna be very sternly nudged to retire. A second year of sub .500 he will absolutely be fired if he doesn’t hang it up. He’s not as untouchable as some of yall think.

In this day and age going under 500 2 years in a row would be an incredibly deep hole to work out of. If that happens the program will be in a very bad spot.

We lost to a top 20 team on the road by 3 with our top receiver, TE and RB out. I assume this is a troll thread by non Iowa fans...

We lost because of ouroffensive production. The same problem for 6 years now.

I hope we go outside the program. Honestly don’t think Wallace or woods are worth it. Feel like we can do better than those 2. Parker be one real loss if coaching staff departs. Even if have mass transfer there aren’t too many guys I’m like we can’t lose. Epenesa is one but like b-ball with Koch I think as a legacy he stays. 2 attractive qualities Iowa has for potential candidates are patience and stability. Where unlike sec or blue bloods you’ll get some more time.

This. Burn it all and start new. It’s time to go Kirk-less. I’ve been saying this for 5 years. Remember folks 2015 was 10 years ago.
